They want to see that your not a cop, pimp, creep trying to find out where they are and actually a dude who just showed up dick in hand. Its definately a security thing. Depending on where you are. Generally and hotel or parking lot of any type its easy to do. First and foremost always get there earlier than you say you do. For example if you going to a residence or room and they ask how long or what time give yourself 15 to 20 mins. So get there early and do a drive around. Check the lot, check the alley backside.
