One that makes me rethink the hobby
Hi Gents,
Having indulged in many an AMP experience dream, I've had those times where I wake up feeling like the emperor of all known lands, and only a very few where I feel rather ashamed, suckered and in need of a vigorous shower. Unfortunately, this one rendezvous today was the latter.
Having recently relocated from another sunny state down south, I decided to try my first Phoenix AMP. Scanned BP ads and chose a place on 103 and Coggins, which was convenient at the time (error #1 - RTFF).
I walk into a large lobby, and am greeted at the typical service window by a cute, young Asian gal, who however looks a bit disheveled and less than fresh, like she had just been tag teamed by two Olympic wrestlers. I pay the 60 for an hour, and am led into a large room. She immediately trys to talk me into a 2 girl session, and won't stop with the sales pitch. I relent for another $40 (error #2 - don't agree on 4 hands at a new place, especially not seeing the gal first).
She leaves, and I start to undress. I do stop to look over at the table, and see that the sheet on the table is not clean (error #3 - don't get serviced at a place that does not appear hygenic). I point it out and she puts a clean towel over.
I undress, she comes back in, and girl #2 kind of hides behind the door until I lay on my stomach. That worried me, I turned around to make sure she wasn't hideous, or that she wasn't a dude! After inspection I concluded she was an unattractive black gal.
They both start rubbing me, with cheap baby oil, we make small talk. At least the Asian gal was hitting some of the right spots, the other gal was rubbing my forearm?
After at most 5 minutes they ask me to turn over. At this point I made the only smart decision of the experience, and nicely ask the black gal to leave, to minimize monetary damage. She does, and the Asian gal grabs the oil and goes right for the finish. Oh wait, after she negotiates another 80 from me (error #4 - never let the little guy make the financial decisions. Yeah right).
She works the finish with her hands, with gusto, but no finesse, and finally the massage is over.
I walk out poorer, ashamed and in need of a hot shower.
It almost makes a single guy want to break down and get a girlfriend (wait, what am I saying). Anyway, I'm putting myself on no hobby probation until 1/1/18.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Chiksika.
Shifting landscape from the past two decades
Bottom Line, the scene in Phx keeps getting worse. The "Golden" day's are gone, probably never to return.
I state this with the following observations over the past two decades:
In the early 2000's there were names like Desert Divas, TLC, and another I can't remember; Beautiful women and excellent diverse cuisine. LEO shut them down and posted the names of over 5000 men in the local papers.
In the mid / late 2000's The AMPs, especially the one on Curry, and a group called Arizona Asians introduced us to beautiful Korean cooking, and actually things got better, but only if you were into Asians. But after a few years Arizona Asians fell apart and Curry could not bring In beautiful delicacies of the past. This was due mostly to our countries economic problems, and not LEO related. But LEO were shutting down MPs in Scottsdale and Phoenix. LEO knows, and never goes away.
Once those places left in the 2010 timeframe they were replaced by Thai. The "Golden" places were the only ones where you could get non-Thai.
The Thai cuisine dominated for years, and guys who liked cheaper food, which was probably great for many; but eventually LEO sniffed around enough to make this Thai cuisine unavailable around 2-3 years ago.
Then there was only The "Golden" places. They were making great food for years, seemed to be in kind suburbs of the metro are, so naturally it seemed like they knew what they were doing. The demise of these fine establishments is LEO related. I will not elaborate further, nor through PM.
LEO has also been involved with running out some independent Asian eateries over the past two years as well. I'm sure non Asian cuisine has been equally diminished, but that's out of my wheelhouse.
So what does this mean? I don't think anything will come back. I know Asian chefs who won't touch Arizona with a 10 foot pole. We are not perceived as a safe and friendly state.
And yes, LEO does read these forums. So, the info is all there in the above chronology. And no, there is absolutely nothing any well meaning reader of this forum can do to change the reality of what has happened to the Phoenix scene.
I'd recommend being a bit more discrete with info you post, or even share in PM. But people will post and PM as they will. Best of luck to all. Stay safe this holiday season.
Peoria report and first post
After reading this forum for many years and getting lots of great advice I'm finally able to contribute a little.
I finally worked up the courage to go to a place in Peoria at 67th and Olive. I have been probably a total of a dozen times. Let me breakdown the "progression".
First visit was Ginny (Jenny). I would say older woman but then she is probably close to my own age. Damn! When did I get older? Anyways, I had the typical questions of whether or not I had been there before. I went the truthful route. She asked me why I was there. I told her it was a sore back and that I was curious about asian style massage. She shushed me at that. I did not leave happy but it was a nice enough massage. She encouraged me to get the 90 minutes massage next visit. Seemed to promise I would enjoy that a lot more?
Next visit I had Annie. A younger masseuse. She was not as skilled technically but I guess I had "street cred" since I had been there to see Ginny before. At the end of my massage she indicated with gestures if I was still needing relaxation. I let her know I had only brought $40 for a tip. This was on top of the $60 for 1 hour massage. She said this was okay and she asked me to get it for her. This was the beginning of many a happy visit and our routine. I did have one unusual experience with her. I showed up without an appointment and she could only give me a 1/2 hour. I think she was trying to get me more motivated to smile sooner and flashed me more than a smile on her part. She has never done it again but I'm guessing that was the purpose of being more exposed that time. What a disappointment when she didn't the next visit.
More recently there seems to have been a changing of the guard. New masseuse has been Alice. First time there was no extra happiness and that was fine. I gave her $20 tip. Next time she asked me if I wanted a table shower at the end of the massage. Of all the times I had been there I did not even KNOW they had a table shower. During that visit I wasn't really planning for it so it seemed a little weird to offer it then. What was really weird was she asked me who I had seen before. I told her Ginny and Annie. With that she had me lay back down and put her finger to her lips to be quiet. She said don't tell anyone. This is our secret. Mentioned how nervous she was. She made sure I was happy with my massage. I massaged her back over her clothes. This happened the next visit as well. It was a little off putting. I'm wondering if the table shower was a more private area that she was trying to get me too? Seems really strange she was so nervous about the whole situation when I personally I assume this is par for this course?
Anyways, I was considering trying some other places. I guess with my cheap $40 tip I can't expect much more excitement. I'd like to understand what is "theoretically" the difference in the different types of massage parlors? This place is Chinese as far as I know. What would be different in a korean, thai, latina, or japanese? Are they really any different how they approach the massage and the ending or is it all the same?
