I've had a number of long time strippers complain to me about how clubs these days are "slow" as far as making money goes. I was at PT's late at night recently. The dj was playing nonstop rap music and the majority of strippers were unattractive ghetto black women. Now I'm not particularly racist and have done lots of lap dances in the past with cute black girls but these females were not in that category. I asked myself what am I doing sitting here listening to music I don't like and looking at females I don't want to look at and then got up and left.
My question is, what is the target audience supposed to be here? The guys in the club were sitting around drinking and trying to look cool but they sure weren't buying lap dances. Is the club trying to get the largest number of customers possible so they can make money selling drinks? How eager are guys going to be to continue to sit in a club drinking when the attractiveness of the strippers they are looking at continuously declines? I do see this decline continuing. The more attractive girls won't show up if they can't make money but in order for them to make money the club needs high spending customers not just a bunch of broke ass losers who can't afford anything more than a drink. The current club owner strategy isn't attracting guys with money to spend. Is this just a case of the club owners not thinking long term and going for the quick buck? Is it part of a more general trend of older guys with money getting too old for strip clubbing and younger guys with money seeing strip clubs as uncool, boring, creepy or a waste of time and then them not spending money in the clubs which causes the clubs to try an alternate strategy to make money by attracting the thug types and giving them a place to hang out, buy and sell drugs or shoot the club security guard if he pisses them off, as happened recently at the Pony?

Some clubs however are overpopulated, I went to Night Moves in Bloomington and literally couldn't sit down because it was so packed on Saturday night. TONS of HIGHLY attractive girls. I think it's less on the clubs and more on the dancers. Having been to an overwhelming amount of clubs in the US, I can say that unless you are in a very big strip club city Texas, Chicago, Atlanta, some parts of Michigan to name a few. Girls are lazy / insecure and don't approach customers. In these standard or more general clubs, managers need to enforce 1,2 drink minimums because they aren't making enough of a cut off girls getting privates with mongers. In the really busy clubs in the states I mentioned I have never seen a situation where guys go to these clubs to "drink" or "hangout", guys literally have to beat off 8's every 10 minutes because they want to take a 9/10 to VIP or get some dances and are waiting for her to free up. The culture is all about leaving happy, getting you in and out with the best girl as fast as possible. Moral of the story is, the girls in Indiana are just acting like normal strippers and aren't very proactive in this respect, so Clubs will certainly develop a hybrid approach and focus on drinks more often because the culture here isn't very goal oriented (if you know what I mean LOL). Also do keep in mind that these are women, highly emotional creatures, and these ghetto low class guys are actually quite sophisticated in making these girls feel good about themselves, again, most of the strippers, even the very attractive one's are quite insecure and really like the attention they get from the low class ghetto guys, it makes them feel very good the way they do it, and yes good enough to ignore you while you're there. In terms of an explanation for why there are more black ghetto less attractive girls at PT's here are a few theories. It was just valentines weekend and most of the feminist type dancers are probably with some guy they think care for them, or they think there is better money elsewhere and are moving to a different club together. The girls out on valentines weekend really need the cash, maybe the more attractive girls made enough and didn't show up. Also yea the ghetto thugs can be annoying, but they can actually be very kind and generous, I talked to a group of thugs once and they got their dancer to give me a dance for free because they said I was "cool people". More likely than not my friend, I think you just had bad luck, try going to Rio, Brads, Babes instead? The pony sucks, if the dude getting shot doesn't communicate that, allow me to "avoid the pony like corona". Last thing I want to say is that most of the managers don't give a flying fuck about your experience, only your money. If you want a good experience at the club befriend bartenders, doormans, and strippers by tipping. More often than not they will give you drinks for free, waive the X drink minimum, text you when girls are there, and even describe their bodies, or if its a doorman let you in for free. The managers in my experience vary rarely are that down to earth. Sorry you had a bad experience Sir, that will happen with this hobby.

Girls have additional options other than the club which makes the clubs worse.

Girls who want to exchange sex for money can now bypass the clubs and meet potential customers that way. This seems to be based on the premise, though, that before the internet most of the girls in clubs were there so they could meet guys and arrange for outside the club sex. Is that really true? I wasn't going to clubs 10 or 15 years so I don't know for sure the answer to that. When I started going about 9 years ago it seemed like there were plenty of girls who wouldn't do that but could still make money because they were extremely pretty, could do sensual lap dances that turned guys on, had friendly personalities and would talk to guys and knew how to flatter guys and stroke their male egos. These girls all seemed to have disappeared from the clubs with a few exceptions.
There are a lot of reasons girls wouldn't want to meet guys outside the club and over the years I've heard them all. They don't want to pick up an std, they don't want to go home with a guy who might be dangerous, they don't want to do something illegal for fear of arrest or the club finding out and firing them, they have a boyfriend and just want to have sex with him and so on. So why did these types of girls decline in numbers? Did the clubs make an effort to keep them and why did the efforts fail if they did?

A local stripper culture may have also developed that isn't proactive and that and the thug types successfully distracting the girls attention may have caused the guys with money to get disgusted and stop showing up. If there are no guys spending money, though, the girls are going to have to get other jobs to pay their bills and they aren't going to be there at the club for the thugs to talk to any more. And, as was said in another response, the internet plays a big role in situations where girls looking for money in exchange for sex are exiting the clubs. Clubs haven't figured out a way to use the internet to their advantage. Their websites are either crappy or nonexistent. The managers, in addition to being overly focused on profits and under focused on customer satisfaction, are very non-creative and don't experiment and try anything new. I was up at the busy Hip Hugger in Kokomo a couple Saturday Nights in the past year. That club has a lot of oddities like ten dollar dances, no dj, no rap music, stage on the wall instead of in the center, limited drink selection. Yet all added together it seems to work. Indianapolis clubs need to try some new ideas and not just be a carbon copy of each other.

I brought 2 drop dead gorgeous young things in on a Saturday night, we left disappointed. It's a club rule that the girls aren't allowed to give laps to females customers.
God, I hate this time of year at the clubs! Went to Rio for lunch as usual and — not one girl there. The good was no cover and a $5 Philly Cheese Steak and fries. When I was just getting out into the world with my fake I'd in the mid 80's, if you wanted to see a naked female body, you could either go to a shitty cum-smelling bookstore and pop quarters into the slot or hit one of the many strip clubs in the city. That's it, no other options for pursuits of erotic entertainment. No longer the case. Any sexual perversion or kink that anyone has can be pretty much fulfilled within a few seconds in front of a computer or your phone. Of course the live body is still more fulfilling, but the availability, simplicity, and choices available have made the hoops you had to jump through in the past much less desirable. Recently, I've been making trips to the Indy area and finally got around to see some of the action. Considered an escort service but with others in my work entourage at the hotel, bringing a girl back was out of the question and I don't the area well enough to seek out other incall hotels. Did a Google of clubs and used the below experiences of one reviewer as a guide. I realize that not everyone's club experience is the same and went with Babes Showgirls, which was a short 2. 5 mile drive away. I am a club veteran and experienced the decline of the clubs in Nashville and the more fun places in Memphis.
Arrived at Babes in the early night after dinner, saw two nice looking girls going out (must have been after shift change), once inside ordered a beer and take a view, mostly were AA girls. One girl with blonde hair showed my some attention and took advantage of a dance at the table. Later took on a nice body girl in the more private area.
Overall, the cost was lower than a Memphis club and had almost as much fun.
There was no talk or hint of extras.

I might change that soon though.
Sunset Strip: Not a bad club, very small better to go very late, like 12 am. The dancers, like most only black clubs are very hit or miss, some will give good dances others will say things like "I'm not going to grind on your dik". Then you offer more money and they proceed to grind on your dick.
PT's: ugh I hate this place, it's like every entitled feminist studying music therapy works here. These girls give low contact dances, and are generally not fun. Cover is also never worth it. I'd avoid this place like the plague if you want any action.
Harem House: Very very hit or miss, sometimes you'll get very attractive girls, other times you won't. The girls 90% of the time give great dances though.
Babes Showgirls: Like Harem, but more likely to find higher quality women there. Also more customers, so less likely to get them.
Silk: Everything changes here, and often. Strippers become bartenders, bartenders become strippers. Bouncers change, dancers change. Right now they are in a low point, not a lot of impressive talent. But sometimes you see something interesting.
Club Rio: Solid club, dances are pricey 30 for privates, but 20 for couches. The girls are down for the cause 80% of the time will give a good grind or get handsy, and you can see some pretty attractive girls from time to time here. There are definitely low points, and you can get some uglies too.
Pony: Fuck the pony.

I find these kinds of posts interesting since I didn't start my strip clubbing until about ten years ago and always wondered what it was like before that. One of the advantages of the internet is that government moves slowly and the internet hasn't been around long enough for the government to get control of it. It's also easier to avoid attempts at government regulation. For example, this site was up for quite awhile before I saw the government try to shut it down. The owners then appeared to find a way to circumvent that attempt. Backpage was up for awhile before it got shut down. People who were using that may have migrated to something else on the internet.
Strip clubs, on the other hand, have been around for a long time now and local governments have figured out how to use zoning and licensing laws to keep new ones from opening. It's more difficult to move a strip club than a website so strip clubs are more at the mercy of local government officials. There haven't been any new clubs opening here in Indianapolis for at least twenty years. This initially benefited club owners because it gave them a semi-monopoly. In the long run, though, it made them less responsive to meeting the desires of customers. This has hurt their reputations and caused a decline in customers. The neighborhoods of the existing clubs have also been slowly declining with the customer base moving further out of the city to the suburbs. The clubs haven't been able to follow them and have an increasingly ghetto clientele and employee staff. This further drives away wealthier customers with more money to spend. Clubs here in the city have been closing at a rate of about one every two years. All the clubs that closed were ones I had already given up going to because they were always really bad. I wouldn't be surprised if more closed. Maybe one of the Pendleton Pike clubs next since three clubs on that street may be one too many now?

A wait to get into the private dance area wasn't unheard of. PTs, being a corporate club has advantages the other don't have so I would be surprised if would go.
Another factor in town as been good owners dying. Having someone who knew what the fuck he was doing helps. The market has really changed over the past twenty years, which of course is normal.
Things are also wildly different in different cities. Dallas has palaces the size of an aircraft hangar, Portland has so many you could hardly piss on a random wall without hitting one. Here I've often run into someone I was sitting next to 2 hours ago in a different club, doing to same thing I was doing, actively searching for a good time.
