Was on the way to a restaurant supply house on Broad a couple of days ago and not paying all that much attention to what was on the shelves along the way. I don't think I can give out real names as I believe it's against board policy. But go to mugshotsonline and just start looking for all those picked up for soliciting. Maybe I'm reading the record wrong, but EVERY SINGLE ONE I've now looked at from that site have been listed with 2907. 241 (A) either in the Action Code for the record, or in the AMD. Action Code. Granted, the first two I looked for were from memory / recent news articles about arrests. But the first three I then looked up from their mugshotonline listing has been listed with that code. Action code 2907. 241 (A) is just your common little street hoe with the potential to be clean or carry any variety of normal STDs. This is a misdemeanor charge offense.

Action code 2307. 241 (B) has tested positive for HIV. This carries a felony charge.

So in short if there is the (B) action code or they are charged with felony soliciting then stay as far away as possible.

The way to determine if they are HIV positive is the degree of the charge for example 2907. 241 (A). M3 means they are negative, if you see 2907. 241 (B). F5 then they are positive. The code name is misleading but in Ohio the distinction is made only in the degree. To knowingly engage in solicitation after a positive test is a felony of degree 5 (formerly of degree 4). The same is true of prostitution 2907. 25.

I know this is a confusing methodology employed by the state and I am sure they have a reason.

In short be careful, take precautions and do not over think mongering, it is what is. I hope this clears things up. For those that wish to read the codes the link is.

Thanks Rolyat. I was convinced that every streetwalker in Columbus was HIV positive until I realized that most of the ones I was checking had the M3 designation. I don't think Dte723 was trying to cause a panic, but those records DO need to have someone with knowledge of the law around to interpret them.

It is 2907. 24 (B) that refers to solicitation after testing HIV positive. Similarly. 2907. 241 (A) is the usual street solicitation while 2907. 241 (B) is street solicitation after testing positive for HIV.

SW are high risk people and this can give you means to kinda' check them out. While I may have not been entirely correct in my codes, but I was on the right track. I caught up with Ginger again today. I've been looking for her since our last visit. Found her on broad.
