I think there are two parts to this situation. One is the "money up front" issue, which is not ideal, but I think we all have done it more than once if the situation demands. I know some of the brothers have been ripped off, but personally I never have, so trust your best instincts here, rather than make it a hard and fast rule.
As for the more important issue, at least to my mind: the lack of passion. To me this would be a turn off, and possibly a deal-breaker. I guess if I just wanted to poke a hole, I'd get one of those blowup dolls. For me, it's all about connection. Again, maybe the approach here is to trust your instincts, or in this case maybe your gut / heart. Only you know how you will feel about it.
All that said, for $150 I might just take a chance.
