Every senior member was a newbie at one time and the more guys sharing info, the better you all are. If you help the new guy, the sooner they are contributing and helping you. The biggest issue facing most guys when starting out is fear of the unknown.

First, you know how easy it is to register for this site. Any LEO who wanted a quick bust at the end of the month could simply ask about someone, get great info about the services and then bust the provider. What is to say that he (they) wouldn't do it again next month with a new I'd... Trust is earned.

2) The second (and I believe) and most important is that the VAST majority of the new members don't bother to do any research before asking the question here. Not to pick on him, but "Tall Paul' and probably six others during April, never used the search function before posting the question. (FYI... I did it too! The seniors really do want the new guys to be successful and enjoy the hobby, (which is why they post. To share their experiences), but if new guys don't bother to do the research then they really do deserve to have some bad experiences, just like us. Why would you share your secrets about investments, recipes, or and other talent / experiences with someone you don't know and just want to go directly to the "good' stuff without any effort on their part? The internet, TV and radio are full of ads for "we'll tell you our secrets, just call 1-800-xxx-xxxx and you know they are trying to make money. Here there is no money involved (at least not with other mongers), but not going to give it away either.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

It seems it's so much easier for some newbies (regulars also) to ask questions and never even bother to read the posts in the forums. And more often than not that info is right there in full view. Also instead of someone using the search function here or Googling something, out comes a question that if one took a minute or two looking for an answer would find it. I'm far from being a computer whiz by any means but using my two hand typing I usually am able to find the information that I seek.
