Do many members read those posts that are almost a page long and seem to go on forever without really getting to the nitty gritty details about the provider or event?

Personally, I find more useful those that are brief, direct and to the point. I guess to each their own.

It doesn't matter how outrageous it is, or if it's even possible, if you say here you did it then they can AND WILL use it against you as if you actually did.

Unless you're using some pretty sophisticated ways to hide your identity (think using TOR browser over a VPN), if they want you then it's a pretty simple process for them to track your IP back to your address. Your Internet provider or phone company will hand over all of your identifying information with a warrant, and Uncle LEO has a very efficient process for getting those.

The bottom line is that you cannot be TOO careful in this hobby, all the way around.

Even if LEO could somehow link a post to the IP to your specific computer, how does that prove that a particular individual actually posted the message on the board and it was not someone else who had access? Unless your going to give out your legal name and address within your post, your safe to post about any "dreams"/ encounters you may have.
