Without a trace of irony, I will posit first that there are no Backpage enthusiasts. There are only those of us who are willing to settle for it at least once in a while.
As to your specific questions, there is way too much variation to cover any of them in a single answer. In general, you as the client will be smarter and more level-headed than most of these girls will ever be. This puts you in control if you really believe it. You just have to make her believe it. To do this:
1) To the extent that you safely can, cover your expectations clearly in whatever pre-meeting communications medium you happen to be using. Some specifics, obviously, need to be covered in person.
2) When you meet, be confident and assertive so you set or reiterate your previously expressed expectations.
3) Give the room a quick once-over, tour the facilities, check behind the doors. This signals that you know what you are about and that doesn't include nonsense.
4) Have her undress before you fork over any form of compensation. Again, this sets an expectation and gives you control. If you get any grief on any of these things, as another board member recently said, just leave. I'd never plan on an hour on the first meeting with a BP'er. If you meet one and things go well and there are repeat visits, you could make it clear then.
If you really want to try for 2 pops with a BP girl, I'd suggest paying for the 1/2 hour, and then tell her if you get to go a second round, you'll donate X more.
