The scanning of drivers licenses take it to a whole other level. I don't know why but this reminds me of the 1979 Dom DeLuise and Jerry Reed movie "Hot Stuff". When they get there, they fix it all up and start keeping records of who comes in the by writing down the names of the patrons and also are secretly taking video of those that patronize the pawn shop. Never pay upfront or in advance. Now, there are some legitimate providers that follow through after a "deposit", but my rule of thumb is that it's just not worth it no matter how tempting the fruit.
