Was going to say that if they typed in a personalized platonic message in their profile, then I generally agree that they are not worth the trouble when there are other options. However, I didn't always know this and in my early days on SA and sometimes pursued them, and sometimes succeeded.

But I didn't know any better at the time, so I messaged her. No answer. Pinged her again a week later. She had had a lot of really fucked up messages and was about to quit the site. We traded photos, she was hot and she was up to meet for coffee.

She turned out to be the kind of gem we all hope for on SA. Smart girl, but very new to all this and really needed money. Coffee was just that, but we scheduled a "real" date later. She is the only girl I have ever taken to dinner off the site. Said she had never had a real sushi dinner and wanted to try it. I stepped up to the plate and invested in a fairly expensive dinner. I love hearing these success stories! It can take a little effort but the payoff can be great. We all have a lot of experiences on SA and as a group have come up with a consensus on "rules" but going against the grain can certainly pay off.
