I had the same experience today. Very aggressive for a tip up front. Gave her a Jackson and told her there would be more if she treated me right. Mediocre massage with uninspired NOVA ending. Gave her another Jackson which was probably too much considering the level of service delivered. Hopefully things will get better here but I don't think I will return until I start seeing some positive reviews.
Ortho
She got me for a good deal more than two jacksons, and she didn't deliver. At one point I was at literal tug-of-war with money from my wallet before anything happened. She even had the nerve to ask for more afterwards. I have no problem with tipping good for good service, and I'm not pushing for more than the standard NOVA, but this was surprising.

What's in YOUR wallet?
Gents,
I came on here tonight with the express intent to report on Papaya. Yes, it's ok to say the name.
Before I can report, I have to ask, why would anyone ever take their wallet into an AMP? You've got pockets for a reason. House fee goes in the front left. Standard tip in the front right. Extra tip, if it is warranted, in the hip (or chose the pockets that make sense to you). You are there for an hour. Do you need every credit card and form of ID that makes up your wallet? I didn't think so. If you don't pull out your wallet, she can't see what you have in there.
Another thing. If you give her or the mammasan only the house fee up front and don't flash any other cash, then you'll probably avoid the upcharge hassle. I never get hassled. And if a girl came in and started a conversation about tipping before she worked the kinks out of my body, then she'd find herself in the unemployed line in the back room of the AMP and another girl would be getting her tip. As little or as much as I deemed reasonable.
I went to Papaya twice in the last few weeks and found two very adorable ladies in their early 30s who had great features, great attitudes, great massage skills, and great social skills. I left very happy both times and so did they. But I was not pressed for anything up front or at the end. Yes, Mammasan knows me, told the girls I am a good customer, and I was treated very well. Reputation has its rewards.
Papaya brings in girls from NYC quite often. These girls are often shocked by the smaller amount of money they can make here as opposed to NYC. Sometimes they only last a few days. Sometimes, they get a string of guys who treat them with respect and appreciation (also called Southern Hospitality) and it makes up for some of the lost profit. I'm doing my part to remember where they are coming from and I hope they appreciate my gentle ways. I am not able to pay NYC prices and wouldn't if I could. This isn't NYC. But I understand that they won't stick around long if we treat them like we're a bunch of damned Yankees rather than the gentrified pigs that we are.
Thus endeth the lesson,
AD.

I specifically didn't say "Papaya" because, as I've mentioned, they were trying to be low-key and are being very cautious (and for a legitimate reason). I thought, that folks around here that would know where I was referring to (and I was available for PM). But also, being that everything I had to say wasn't completely positive, I thought a little discretion would be considerate.
As far as tipping, as I've said, I feel I tip better than most here. My thoughts on this, and what I usually tip, are on this thread if you search for it. As far as 'flashing cash', I haven't. But if you must know I tipped $80 for a nova finish up front, but she grabbed an extra $20 out of my wallet, much to my dismay, then asked for more tip afterwards.
Since this has been discussed in thread before, I don't think fair of what is considered 'standard' in tip in Nova. We have to understand that tip is pretty much all the girls make. And, yes, there are bad tippers galore in this area, which is why girls end up asking for money up front (and not just girls from NY). However, in the same vein, good service equals good tipping; even for a nova finish. And I sure hope that folks here have that level of respect for the girls.

$80 tip for standard nova finish seems quite ridiculous to me. For me $80 tip means provider is good-looking, completely disrobes and performs CBJ and / or Russian w / lots of nude grinding. This has happened on occasion and providers were satisfied w/$80 tip.

I played in NYC
I have played in NYC and I am sorry to say you are wrong. The girls there ARE younger and more serving. NYC (Queens) is like the starting point for many and if you tell the MMS anything less than a good they will take care of you better, event to put you back in a room with another girl. None of this "next time" BS.
I am sorry, as for prices the TIPS rate are the same here and there so please, if you are talking to the girls about what they get in NY, and they say they do better, DO NOT BELIEVE IT!
OK, I have not been about to get back up to NY in over a year but dating back to early 2010 none of what I mentioned above was different. NYC + AMP (K normally) = younger more attentive for <= $.8.
Sorry to advise but most of the time when they are here they are already older and wiser. They have learnt to play the games. By the time they are working here many have new model headlamps because they know they will not get the attention they once had. By the time they are here they know they are winding down on a "career" and they need to suck up the last remaining $$$$$ they can.
Please do not be fooled. If is great you guys are not into young and vibrant girls but if you played a month in NY you will see a big difference. You are luck because I was forced to adjust coming to VA / DC area and this was difficult.

For me $80 tip means provider is good-looking, completely disrobes and performs CBJ and / or Russian w / lots of nude grinding. This has happened on occasion and providers were satisfied w/$80 tip.
I generally tip $60-80 for standard nova. I tip for overall quality of service (including the massage itself). Personally I don't tip $40 like some are suggesting for an hours worth of time and work. 30 minutes with a crap massage, $40 is fine in my book, but not for an hour. A great long massage with a nova finish deserves an $80 in my book. In fact, in reality, the massage takes more energy and care than the just a quick finish.
Tips is all what the girl really gets, and I really don't think it fair that the house gets more than the girl. In this case I am in agreement with Alpha D.
As far as Mina, I gave $80 in expectation and agreement of a quality massage. This did not transpire as the massage was rushed. My upper-body was taken care of, but my legs (which were hurting) was not.
I would also like to add, if CBJ, grinding, whatever, is what you are after there are better applications of your funds than NOVA AMPs. AMP's services are far too hit and miss for that, and there are plenty of girls on BP that can accommodate you for that price (or cheaper). Tipping based on those criteria pushes these girls to act the way they do.
There is more to the AMP experience than that.

I ask because I tip $20 for a good therapeutic massage. So $40 for a basic sensual massage w / standard NOVA finish (HE) is double that. Essentially the provider is getting $20 extra for a few minutes of massaging where therapeutic providers don't go.
Not trying to start a debate, anyone is entitled to tip whatever he wants to tip. I was just wondering if you tip $40 for a strictly therapeutic massage?

Polish the Apple
I dropped into Red Apple in the morning and for the first time noticed their rather bold sign on the office park listing by the road. They are open again in a nice facility downstairs. Mama is quite old but very friendly. My therapist, who was so unremarkable that I didn't bother to get her name, was much younger (30 ish?) but not one to let the scent of tips get in the way of her wanting to be somewhere else. Her TS was ok, as was her massage, but nothing more than ok. Near the end she asked me how much I usually tip and I said. 4.6 depending on how good things get. She took the. 4 option for the next few uninspiring minutes spent, and out the door I went. Yak

Bcbs
Covers Therapeutic Massage, can I get the to cover my next visit and then only worry about the TIPS? Over tipping does not always lead to better service. It is like with restaurants; too many wait staff have been shafted so many restaurants now add the TIPS to some or all the bills. This does not INSURE PROPER SERVICE, it just insures a plate will get to the table.
I still say start with. 4 for a hug / hand shake and increase and decrease from there based on the service, the truth in advertising and / or the enjoyment of the experience. I know for me attention and contact is very important, the extra attention and cuddle I might get causes the bills in my wallet to rub their eye as they see light. Poor / unattentive service causes them to sleep longer.
Many here think the reason we do not get the quality of, say an NY is because we do not tip enough here, I can tell you that is false. You might here that from the girls here but that is one way they are suckering you for a bigger tip. Trust this, we accept so we get what we get.
I know many of you, here in NOVA enjoy the more "experienced / seasoned" provided, so this is what we are getting.
Enjoy what you enjoy and hope everyone finds what they like.

I was here from 2003. 2004 and I found all I wanted, nice good people who you enjoyed visiting. Of all cultures; it was a real education!
For an average therapeutic massage, my tip is based on the location and price of the original massage itself. A massage in a mall is different from a massage as room service in a hotel, or an independent therapist.
BTW, on a side note, I once got a HE at a very reputable hotel once before.
But the big difference between a NOVA AMP and a standard therapist is the risk involved for the girls (which can be serious). Worse, the girls usually get near nothing of the house pay. They don't get a fixed reliable salary compared to if they worked at some day spa. HE, or more, the overall level of service is a very different experience.
I don't go based on bulletpoint criteria of all the 'extras'. I go by the overall experience, if I can relax and spend an hour, and truly enjoy myself I'll tip well regardless of if I get the 'extras'. I'll tell you that I've had some pretty horrid BP experiences that hit those bullet points.
But again, for Nova, there are much cheaper options if you want BJ or FS then an AMP. Its different economics and a different experience.
At the same time, a bad experience is a bad experience, and a tip should justify that. Which is the experience I shared here. Though I didn't intend on making it such an extensive discussion.

Been lurking this site for a long time but just recently registered. I've only had one AMP experience and it was while on vacation in Hawaii. Decided to do it on a whim and got hooked-but from what I have read I think I may have ended up with a rare / fantastic first experience (CBJ, FS, HE) with a young girl in her mid 20's. I walked in and the mamasan exclaimed about how young I was, and told me she had someone nice and young for me. If anyone ever vacations to Waikiki, look for the Apple and ask about Momo.
My birthday is coming up, so I might as well celebrate that and my new job in style. Thinking of scoping out MWC, BKY or something similar. Will report back once I do.

ATMB / Lisa=10
Lisa: 35yo. Cute / petite / milky white and silky skin / perfectly cute hands and feet=generally just about right=10.
Massage: 5.
Tip. 6.
Only had 40 minutes-was my own fault. From 1996-2005 my internal clock would have me finished at exactly 55 minutes. No discussion about tip=happy customer. Recommend for an extra nice NOVA experience. Will return when I save up again.
