Eh, I've dropped $3 k in a strip club before; I had a blast.
Not to make assertions about the customers at Follies, but many years ago I knew a guy ("Dave L.") who was the main source of "Xtacy" in Atlanta (this was the early 90's, when it was a big thing). He pulled in about $100 k / week cash, but basically didn't exist: he had a group of investors who provided him with a penthouse on top of Club Tower, a porsche 911, and whatever high-ticket material things he needed, because his whole life was off the books; he couldn't invest money, or buy anything requiring paperwork, nothing.
So he just had obscene amounts of cash which didn't really matter, and he blew a bunch of it in strip clubs (mostly The Cheetah, where he was a nightly fixture). It wasn't so much "stupid" as it was "whatever".
Value is subjective. Me? I like eating at Rathbun Steak, where I might drop $100 on a steak, because I really, really appreciate a good steak. Of course, you can buy a sirloin at Waffle House, and so some people will just shake their heads at me ("dude! You could buy a dozen steaks at the WH! It's okay, because we're not really in meaningful competition with each other.
I've never found the "high rollers" at Follies to be any kind of real competition (maybe we just like different types of girls; I go for the spinner types, so maybe they're grabbing the giant-assed twerkers and I'm just not noticing); it's not worth worrying about!
O.
There are a few problems with what you've just stated.
Your steak analogy is terrible. I like a good steak too. Del Frisco's & Prime 112 are my two favorites. There is a big difference between a steak dinner at Del Frisco's and one at the Waffle House in both service and the actual food being served. So the difference in cost can be justified because the product and services are much better. However, the quality of a dancer is constant. She doesn't look any better when you throw thousands of dollars at her feet. Additionally I would argue that the services they provide are actually negatively affected by the "throw money in the air" crowd. How you say? Because these chicks become lazier as more folks continue to pay them absurd amounts of money to do little to nothing. So they do less for more money because some folks have bid pricing up. This has nothing to do with one individual competing with another. The problem with this stuff is not how it will affect any individual but how it affects this business as a whole.
I'm in my 30's so I don't know what strip clubs were like 20 years ago, but I do remember the mid late 90's. I remember when throwing money in the air at a stripper was just fuckin stupid. However that culture has taken over the scene and I definitely think it has hurt everybody except the lazy girls. I remember club Nikki in Atlanta, or Rolex in Miami. These clubs were legendary! And there was nobody throwing thousands of dollars on the floor. Or even worse there was nobody throwing money at a girls feet and then walking off as if they don't even care to see her dance (I'm sure we've all seen this stupid shit). You know, the money aint a thing... LOL! That was when the baddest chicks were gettin it in and working hard for that money. These days they can literally come to work and stand around while people shower them with money, or some idiot send her money via instagram.
So yeah, it worth worrying about because stupid shit can fuck up the whole thing. It actually has already done some serious damage.
