On the disease front: I've been an on again, off again regular in several states since about 1998 (yeah yeah, just a kid, I know), and I've only had issues twice. Both times it was an ordinary skin fungus, athlete's foot or ringworm. Itches like hell, but a couple of weeks of antifungal cream and it's gone. I've got no evidence that it was the spa, and not the locker room or something else.

That said, it's a numbers game. If you're a frequent flier - particularly if you push the boundaries - eventually you'll get burned. Frankly, some other states are horrifying in terms of reporting BBBJTCIMWS, for example. If I hear that a place isn't using protection on *everybody*, I absolutely do not go there. That's a lot of the reason why, except for special occasions, I'm a Lily's customer.

The other question for me is whether I'm patronizing places that treat the girls badly. You hear stories, you know? Providence is pretty good in that regard, so far as I can tell. That said, in other states - I've walked out of places because it was so obvious that they *were* those hellholes you read about. In one memorable case, Mama went to unlock a back room, and I caught a glimpse of the girls all in a drugged out pile. My masseuse was too young, and way too high for 11 in the morning.

That kind of stuff actually matters a lot to some of us. In this case, you just need to open your eyes and trust your gut. Take a good hard look at the places you spend your money. If you get the slightest whiff that they're abusing the girls, at the very least don't support the business.

Back in the 80's and 90's when the AMP's where few and far in RI, I frequented the NYC AMP's I found in the old Screw Magazine.

A nice feature they had which I've never experienced in a RI AMP is when you entered the establishment you where greeted by several beautiful girls sitting on the couch, chairs and floor and you had your pick of the crop. I always enjoyed perusing over the inviting eyes and wonderful smiles.

The only other place I remember being like that were the fishbowls in Thailand where you walked in to the establishment and the girls where behind a glass with numbers and you picked a number.

I believe that is why I like Japan Spa, even if it is small only 3 or 4 girls, you get to meet them all so that you can make your choice on the next visit.

I never had a bad experience at OS. Only if you go late on a Fri or Sat night then it's kinda rushed because its so busy. But where ever you go and your not happy with service provided just leave. That would really get the attention of the manager.

In general, attitude is controlled from the top, and well run places screen / shape their service providers to have the right attitude with customers to make the experience more enjoyable. Poorly run places have a trickle effect - girls are more intollerant, shorten time, more inclined to change the rules, etc.

ONE was my favorite place way back when it entered the market. I humbly believe I gave one of the initial reviews on it to launch awareness of the quality of service at ONE. With that, everything has a business lifecycle - customer demand increases, quality may diminish, mama changes, etc. Right now and IMHO, ONE is not a quality place by far and I would seek better options elsewhere. After several not-so-good experiences as you've reported, I finally decided to stay away until circumstance improved.

Haven't been out in a while. Last time, went to ONE and had a pretty good go, but recent reports suggest it has gone downhill. Is 1021 the clearly superior choice these days?

I think you may have gotten off on the wrong foot by asking for a lineup, I know that is a common practice and sometimes they offer that without being asked, but there are bound to be hurt feelings of one kind or another. There has been discussion previously about going to FS places and not opting for FS, and there are valid arguments for matching the service you desire to the particular facility that specializes in that service.

When I have gone to these FS places, I normally will accept whoever they assign to me, unless a choice is given. Even then, I don't think it always advantageous to pick the best looking one. Candy at FE was one of my favorites in the past, and I don't think she was the best looking one they had there at the time.

I have stopped going to OS and also FE, not because of the quality of the experience but the shortchanging of time.

So far I have had 4 excellent visits to 1021 and until they do something to change that, it will be my default location in Prov.

I agree to a point here! I have not gone to OS nor FE in months because of the rush and feeling like I am at the deli counter with a number in my hand waiting for my number to come up! I fear that 1021 will start to get this reputation also and that will not make me happy as this is such a hidden gem right now! I am certainly at a different level then just the "Walk in" type customer at 1021 as I go there at least once a week now and I know it sounds boring and repetitive but I also see the same girl every time! I have built such a great relationship with the Mama (Mika) and the girl I see that they know exactly what my needs are and always surpass them without question! I only hope and pray that the girl I see there and Mika stay for some time or at least are replaced with similar as they are really gems!

I totally understand why the lineup can cause hurt feelings, but these girls are the ones we PICKED. I just wanted my friend to have a great experience, as I have never asked for a lineup before. I really like the unknown, seeing who walks in the door to greet me. This was just a really bad experience for me, but as we say YMMV. I have no intention of going back to OS; didn't like the service, attitude and short timing. I will try Bali and 1021 for sure, as recent reports on those two have been really good. Just got back. I read the recent discussion here but went anyway, well prepared to walk away and hit my other fave, CH, if things went bad.

Michele greeted me at the door and walked me back. Very slim and petite but might have been 30 or more. She was going to be my masseuse until I said, 'oh, it's you?' -- You want a line up? she says. She offered matter of factly -- so sure, why not? In walk 5 and Michele says, 'have 8 girls but tree bissy, k?'
