I think throwing out there early on that you are looking for fun "in private" or something like that is harmless. Just would not push too much via text. Then once you meet, see where it goes. I do not throw dollar amounts out there until I meet the person unless they insist and even then, usually try to give a range with the disclaimer, "depending on how things go". A good question is what are they looking to cover with regard to expenses. I have had girls that just wanted rent covered which wasn't too bad and we were able to work out a monthly with expectations for how often we would see each other based on that.

This one is another time waster for me. I broke my own rule and gave her $ just for lunch. I am getting 2-5 messages a day all that say "hi, how are you" or "how are you" and they are all cropped profile photos of like 1/2 a face usually from nose to chin.

I know fake profiles are always a thing, but is anyone noticing this huge uptick in these specifically recently? All local profiles, not S american profiles.

There's no way my change somehow stimulated a bunch of interest. According to the chatter on other message boards fake profiles have become a real issue in the past year.

I mean, they may be super hot. If they ask a ridiculous amount, they might get a guy to actually pony up, and if he isn't a creep, they have a major windfall.
