We both got a laugh out of anyone being paranoid. As if somelnes girlfriend or wife was going to come ask to see if their man was there 🙄.

You aren't getting extras in there anyway. I mean does someone in here plan on running for office? Given "some" of the people who were just elected I think going to things like strip clubs are a non factor. I'm not exactly sure why they scan IDs but you aren't doing anything questionable by going into fantasies. If anything it ensures a better quality of dancer because most of the riff raff is afraid of getting their I'd scanned because they are paranoid someone is watching them or looking for them. It's a decent club, it's away from the block, and it's rarely overcrowded. I've even been when they have had porn stars dancing as guests and getting a private room with them has been quite a treat.

Whenever an establishment has what seems like a draconian or seemingly arbitrary rule, it's probably related to liability. It's why only some specific dog breeds are banned from many apartment complexes that allow pets.

It's a matter of privacy. You scan my I'd. What are you doing with that information? Where is it being stored? Who has access to it? Anything beyond that is completely irrelevant. Call me paranoid if you want. I really don't care. My privacy is important to me, and I treat it accordingly. I'll never understand this mentality where people are just so happy to give up their privacy for any reason so long as they "have nothing to hide" (so to speak). Other countries and even some other states have figured this out (e. G. : GDPR, VCDPA, and CCPA as a few examples).

I won't do it at a Casino. I damn sure won't do it at a random bar. I absolutely won't do it at a fucking strip club.

Ask the bouncer to tell you who has access to the information, how long it's retained for, who the vendor is for it, who their data partners are, and what their privacy policy is. Ask them what your right to opt out of collection of your personal information is. Ask them what your right to deletion is. Other places refer to this as "Right to be Forgotten". If none of these questions can be answered, then you're effectively handing over your information freely to them to do whatever the hell they want with, and since we have no federal privacy law related to this, and Maryland's data privacy law doesn't take effect until October 2025, there's nothing stopping them or their vendor from doing that for the time being.

They should also know that, if they can't answer those questions, they will be out of compliance with said law starting next October.

It's about business insurance. And no, they're probably not going door to door to every strip club to verify, but when the business submits their information to their insurance carrier that they record IDs, they may get a reduction in rates. It's like when my homeowner's insurance gets notified that I installed a security system or my auto insurer is told that I put in a dash cam. These things help them solve claims easier and faster, thus saving them money, which can save the insured business or consumer money as well.

Again, it was just speculation, but I happen to have a family member that's a licensed insurance agent for consumers, so I'm inferring there might be similar things for businesses. Though it's just as likely, it's to ensure that people don't skip out on their bills or harm or harass the dancers.

Since we're here, let's go ahead and follow this logic. You have a smartphone. You might as well remove all the blinds from your windows at home. After all, what are you worried about? What do you have to hide? Have social media? Go ahead and leave your front door open. What are you worried about? It's not like someone will go ahead and steal any of your stuff. Go ahead and share your location on your phone to all your friends and family while you're at the strip club. Maybe do the same when you drop by an AMP. What are you worried about? You're not doing anything illegal right?

There are people who won't see someone unless they do BBBJ, and others who want everything covered. There are guys here who won't see someone who charges $$$ and others who don't look at providers under $$.

You guys just operate differently. It is time to put this one away.
