Just see indies that are newbie friendly and that will rate you back. Go for BNG or HHR. Drop by the LA or OC HX threads and explain you're new and ask if someone can provide some newbie friendly providers to see. Additionally, you should search HX yourself and find some potential candidates to see, look at their recent ratings too to see if they are consistently rating others back. After a couple of ratings then go for the agencies.
