True story.

Back in the navy, late 70's, while cruising off the coast of Singapore, I was partaking in some herb in the break room during flight deck ops. Anyway, I just take a hit and passed it on when the cops(master of arms/renatal boys) come wandering in.

They tried and tried to get me to admit I smoked it or at least knew he was smoking it (and not ratting on him at the time, therfore making me criminal too).

I went to XO mast, which is one step below capatains mast (which almost always results in a bust in rank, fort of pay and brig time). The XO was mad that I wouldn't admit to anything, but he did the right thing and gave me a warning and 10 hours extra duty.

Keep in mind, I was wet behind the ears, 6 months into my tour and half way around the world, but I stuck to my (street)convictions.

Heck, if they caught me with the junk in my mouth, I still would have lied and said I was napping and D-bag over there must have slipped it in my lips while dozing off.

It is very easy to get emails and texts into evidence, and once you have to start explaining, you start loosing. So, even though you might have experts to say they can be faked, the safer route is not to use text's at all and keep emails to a minimum.

The advice about keeping your mouth shut, and not even answering innocent questions is also spot on. If you lie about a simple question like "do you know. " you might invite yourself on a trip downtown, Remember, Martha Stewert did not go to jail for her insider trading, she went to jail for lying to the Po Po about 2 phone calls she made.

There are numerous "Old Wives Tales" out there about providers, AMPs and what LEO can and can not do. Please furnish your opinion on some of these and help those of us avoid problems.

1-It does not seem that any defense attorneys are willing to use entrapment by LEO as a defense. Why? Is it because the Judge is going to believe the noble LEO and not the provider, no matter how honest she is being?

2-If the undercover officer initially reaches over and rubs the providers butt or breasts can he still arrest her if she touches his privates? Is this just another case where the Judge is not going to believe the provider. From a layman's standpoint this certainly seems like entrapment.

3-Should some MP have hidden cameras and can prove the undercover officer put the girls hand on his privates before she provided the HEing, can the tape be used and how?

4-What can the public do about all the money the undercover officers spend out of city funds to pay for massages? I for one am not interested in paying for LEO to get massages and harrass the providers.

5-Other than keeping our mouths completely shut when approached by LEO,
do you have any other suggestions to help all of us that read the board.

The sad reality is that the police can lie and get away with it most of the time. They do not have to identify themselves as police until they are ready to arrest you. Typically, they cannot and will not expose themselves to you (or a provider), but if you do it they can get you for lewdness or offering for lewdness.

The good news is that they SHOULD be pretty easy to spot.

They will want to have the "what do I (you) get for my money" conversation. A LEO posing as a SW won't get in the car (or go anywhere) without talking about price. If she gets in the car and asks you to "pull it out" first to prove you aren't LEO, they have you on lewdness.

"Entrapment" means they made you do something you had no intention of doing. If an undercover SW gets in your car after you offer her a ride, reaches over and pulls out the little thinker, then tries to arrest you for lewdness, that would still be entrapment. (and battery on you).

If you get in a jam, there is nothing that requires you to plea immediately. Typically, you will be offered an adjudication and time served or maybe a withhold, but if you plea not guilty and bond out, you may be able to work out a better deal. Here’s the deal on entrapment.

Firemen are supposed to put fires out. They are not supposed to set fires to get credit for putting them out. Police are supposed to arrest people who commit crimes, not cause crime by inducing people to commit them so they can arrest them for it.

Entrapment happens when a person is on a legal path and undercover approaches them and talks them into doing something wrong. This is the situation where the defendant is let go.

It should be obvious that entrapment is problematic for us. We advertise P4P on the internet, we search out P4P ads and we answer them and some of us stop at streetwalkers in a streetwalker area. We do this on our own. We show our true colors on our own. There is no LE there trying to get us to do anything at this point.

So when the other side happens to be undercover we can be set up and nabbed. It is perfectly legal for undercover to play ball with us to catch us doing what we set out to do on your own. This is not entrapment.

In other words, it is okay for undercover to give us the rope to hang ourselves as long as we started down that path on your own without their help or encouragement.

Once we show our true colors we become fair game for undercover.

That's why I said (from the man's perspective), ask the lady to get into her panties and a bra or bikini and give you a body rub. 99.9%, if she is LEO's sister, I can promise you, she won't do it. It is very sad that in this day and age, you can almost lose all your lively hood for wanting to have a business transaction with a willing female. There are far bigger criminals who lose less than this. Just my thoughts and happy mongering.
