It is a Class a Misdemeanor and can carry up to one year. But, if this is your first time, which reading your post is more than likely the case, you will not serve any time. BUT, you must get a lawyer to make sure they treat you correctly, otherwise all bets are off as to what they would actually do / say or charge you with. Good luck with this. In the future, if you are coming out of a room, there is no way they can prove what was going on inside, unless it was a sting and they have you on video handing over money or an envelope. Otherwise, it would be her word against yours, IF she admitted that you gave her money, which I doubt that she did. Never tell the cops or admit to anything if you can help it.

Connecticut has a program called accelerated rehabilitation:

Basically, if you don't have a criminal record and are charged with a minor offense you may be eligible. It's kind of a one time get out of jail free.

I faced a similar charge and went into the program. The requirements were to pay a small fee 100 I think and not be arrested for a year. After that the charges were dropped and I have no record.

If you said anything to the cops, it'll be in the police report. They may even include a few assumptions that will appear to be facts. AKA Fuzz Fudge.

Your lawyer will get access to the reports and you'll be able to read them. Depending on your circumstances, it's to your advantage to delay any court appearance. Your lawyer can explain. Cops have been known to out right lie on these police reports.

First offense in Hartford is community service, sex education class, and std testing. After that charges are dismissed. Even if you went for acceralerated rehabilitation they might stick on community service too. It is basically a crap shoot if they put your name in the paper or not. If it has not made the paper yet you probably have a good chance to keep this away from your family. You are actually lucky that they gave you a promise to appear instead of bail. He probably didn't, but got fed up with the constant flow of men to her room by the time you got there. You can't win I guess. A friend I am seeing got arrested for solicitation. I know this is the other side of the coin but was hoping someone has some suggestions. This is what happened:

She gets into an under cover car in broad day light and the cop asks if she likes to suck dick. She says, no do you?

He says: What if I gave you $100. She say's it will take a million dollars.

He says: You are the nicest person I've arrested today and takes her in.

She was released the next morning as this is her first arrest, has a family and a job.

Any thoughts on what will happen next and how she can clear her record?
