Like many of you, I've gotten to know quite a few of the ladies. They're just people, trying to make a decent lives for themselves. They deserve some respect. What would you rather do? Work in a shirt factory in southeast Asia for a couple of bucks a day, or come to America and rub down mongers? Sure, some of them get jaded, can you blame them? But at the heart of it they're doing the best they can in the world like virtually everyone else.

If any ladies from the shops are reading this, please know that many of us are horrified and deeply saddened at the senseless murders yesterday. May your friends rest in peace.

I think he was trying to call our attention to the fact that way too many of us do marginalize these ladies, take them for granted, and see them not as real human beings but just lumps of unfeeling flesh who exist only at our whim and pleasure. I think that he was trying to point out the hypocrisy of our attitudes to them. Maybe he could have made his point in a less sarcastic, cynical way but I don't think for a second that he was trivializing this tragedy. This is horrible on so many levels and I think Marty understands that. Just my two cents.

I haven't seen any info on the victims _ I can't read this whole thread-But if it it is anything like Florida, my guess on ages= 3-50's, 4-40's and one high 30's.
