Police said they conducted a reverse prostitution sting on Garden Street Saturday night.
Seven men were charged with patronizing a prostitute from motor vehicle. Their names were not immediately available.

The HPD vice squad is a big waste of money / resources as they're always opting to take the easy way out and boost the numbers by setting up stings like this, instead of dealing with guns and drugs that are so prevelant all over Albany and Garden, and now even the south end which has gone to complete crap all on the no-so-new-anymore Chiefs watch. And as we've all seen historically, they'll continue to do this very same thing at least once a week when the summer weather finally gets here.
They know the dealers own the streets, and they want no part of it.

Officers with the vice and narcotics unit and the southeast conditions unit conducted the sting in the area of Wethersfield Avenue and Morris Street in response to complaints from neighborhood residents.
Those charged were:. Bail for each was set at $5, 000.
Hartford Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts urged anyone considering patronizing a prostitute in Hartford to think again "as they may find themselves dealing with an undercover Hartford police officer and will be arrested and charged accordingly."
$5, 000 bail? Really? Way to go Chief Daryl! People getting shot every day in every corner of the city, and you have your goons wasting time and resources on this crap. Same old song and dance, some things never change. No neigborhood residents are complaining. If there's anything to complain about, it's the drug dealers hanging out in front of C-Town and every street corner on Wethersfield Ave all day and night long, even in the overnight hours.
Like I said earlier, they do this every spring and summer whenever the weather is nice and they don't want to do any real police work. If I were you guys, I'd find alternate means of going about the hobby and lay off the streets. The Electric Blue is nice and air conditioned on a hot, summer day with plenty of refreshing alcohol to be had.

I am from MA and I know every state is different but I used to know someone who got arrested for possession of heroin, failure to stop for police, and few others while having an open case for other felony charges including heroin and others and they got $5000 bail so to put a john (most likely with no priors or nothing serious at least, probably has a job, life) in the same catagory as a drug addict felon looking at a few years in jail if convicted, no job, is just absurd.
