I have been with a few providers and I have not had an issue but for those who are not so well reviewed should I carry?

They are no different than the millions of people forced to make tough decisions in unprecedented times. As a Cincy monger, there are very few local providers that could draw me out of quarantine for a visit and even then I'd have to be enticed by some better pricing. There's too much risk involved, beyond just the virus. More people are in their homes looking out their windows, SOs are at home and bored wondering where hubby is, LEO's have less on their plate, many mongers schedules are tighter to where they can't break free for an hour, etc.

This is just an unfortunate time to do business, for pretty much everyone. Someone mentioned that the great providers will be fine, and I think that is spot on. The ones who suck will go under just like sh*tty businesses will go under. Hell, Brookee could drop back into town and charge 500/ hr and I bet she'd have a full slate of clients. It's supply and demand.

Hopefully the provider you were talking to is good enough to weather the storm. Let's face it, offering more time or more on their menu for the same price is basically lowering their price. It's time or services they should be charging more for, but aren't. It may work on bringing in clients but it is what it is. They are working cheaper. You can either lower prices and try to get more volume, or charge the same and see significantly less business.

You could make 100 K, your spouse $49.9 K and you would still get $1200 each, that is, if you file joint.

The real scam is kids over 16, you do not get $500 for them at all. I always thought it was a crock of shit that when your kid turns 17, you lose the child tax credit. My youngest is now 19, full time college student (or was anyway, LOL). No job and I support him 100%. He gets nothing and neither do I.

I did a bit of research a few weeks ago. The payment is based on 2019 return, if you have yet to file, they go back to 2018. If you claim, say in my case, my kid as a dependent, they are not eligible for the stimulus payment. Therefore, I filed my 2019 taxes 2 weeks ago and DID NOT claim him as a dependent.

Then, I filed a tax return on his behalf showing zero income after doing my research. No W2, no income and the only thing I was prompted to enter was his student loan total. At the end before hitting submit, it said, your federal tax return is $1,000. Not sure why, maybe that is the standard tax credit? Then, since he filed, they will use that for the stimulus check.

I found all this info be reading quite a few articles and finalizing everything at IRS. Gov website. Hope it may help some of you out there.
