The discretion initially but know the time and place to discuss certain subject. Being too direct and blunt seems to be viewed as impolite / disrespectful in my experience, YMMV. Maybe my imagination but being freshly shaven seems to be a factor in how well I'm treated. If I go in in with a shadow of a beard things seem to be more. Standoffish.

I try to be complimentary of mam-san and the establishment if I've received good service in the past. I request certain girls but make it clear its a request and that I understand if it's not possible and that I trust mama-sans judgement in who would best provide the service I've become accustomed to receiving.
