You missed the title of my post...
The way I parsed that, he was saying that her not advertising in places like CL and BP made her safer.
Cheers,
BCG
I said how does HER NOT advertising in mainstream places make her seem safer? The way I see it, this board is VERY MAINSTREAM!! lol
Most of the risk goes to the provider...
I apologize as well, I didn't see that the first half of the sentence was in the title.
My impression is that this forum does not receive nearly the amount of local traffic as the erotic services area of Craigslist does. Maybe that's not true, but it would certainly seem odd to me if it weren't. To get to this site, you have to read a ton of Craigslist posts until you see this site referenced, and then go to it.- or really seek this site out on a search engine or something. On the other hand, people get on Craiglist every day to look for everything under the sun.
Craigslist is the 26th biggest site on the Internet, while usasexguide. Info is the 29, 190th biggest site on the Internet (per Alexa web stats).
That basically means that Craiglist leads to higher exposure to the public, which, in this situation, would seem to be directly related to risk. You could maybe post there a few weeks and then just deal with regulars only, which would minimize risk.- but only posting in the most secluded place, AND being selective about who you respond to seems like the most careful way to do it.
That kind of sucks for me because I am so picky (hence my name) that I have not posted much, or ever even partaken of such services, so she probably won't deal with me.- but I don't blame her, she's playing it safe as hell. I did get on Melissa's approved list once, but I didn't have the funds at the time.
I have another thought about Craigslist as well. If little Johnny gets on Craigslist to find a new guitar and clicks on erotic services.- then the parents will be angry at Craigslist, which eventually leads to negative public sentiment toward Craigslist, and thus crackdowns. But if little Johnny is off on usasexguide. Info then the parents just get mad at little Johnny, he shouldn't be there in the first place. Less negative sentiment, less motivation to crack down on it. I think that is pretty logical.
When advertising on any board on the internet, Most of the risk is on the provider. So again, I say. As long as YOU stick to a well known and reputable provider who checks references, then the you (the client) are safe. I for one have bills to pay. So I am going to advertise wherever I KNOW clients are most likely to look for companionship. Then, I am going to do my "homework" to stay as safe as possible. As far as Mainstream goes. This board may not be as known as Craigslist to the average person. But it is Mainstream to LE. That was my point. LE is my main concern. And actually if you type in Memphis Adult Escorts into any search engine BACKP*GE shows up before CL. USA before CL. MANY MANY sites before CL.
My two cents. Again.
