It goes on a point system and you have to buy points at varying values. In other words the more points you buy the bigger discount so it's really reasonable. After you start using it then you have the choice to extend the current number or change it with varying lengths of service time / texts / calls bought from your points.
Had this debate myself. Depends on what your main concern is. Ladies harassing you or history being stored.
I may be wrong, but I came to the conclusion that anything installed on your phone will always be recoverable. Granted, no one here is doing anything that they need to worry about the phone being cracked open by some high level individuals, but still. If it were me, I'd rather just be able to toss it into a dumpster than to have it on me. Family Mobile, Straight Talk, by the minute type plans, etc. All easy and cheap. No info required.
