The defendant contacted an undercover detective who was posing as a prostitute during an undercover operation by text and phone calls. The defendant sent several pictures of himself and stated he wanted to talk in person about business opportunities through [URL]backpage.com[/URL]. The defendant came to the undercover detective's hotel room and stated he wanted to go into a business partnership. He offered to help the undercover detective by raising the prices of prostitution ads, providing security of the room during in-call appointments and providing security and transportation for out-call appointments. He stated he would collect all of the money that is given to the undercover detective from the "Johns" after every appointment. He stated he would allow the undercover detective to buy small things if she worked hard. He stated the undercover detective would be required to make at least $800-$1000 a night for him. He stated he would provide hotel rooms and any condoms or lubrication needed for the appointments. He also stated there are consequences for getting lazy and he does not allow his girls to do so. Shortly after the defendant stated he was ready to start doing business with the undercover detective, he was arrested for promoting prostitution.

The real question is how we can identify those ads so as not to be ensnared by LE?
