Am I right in assuming its never good to use credit cards with agencies like Modeling Ave?
(I admit I did it with 2 kg because the girl had the credit card reader phone attachment like small stores and I never had other charges. So I guess I'm not sure how to determine if an agency is trustworthy or not.).

The business name that shows up on the credit card bill is always something totally benign like a cleaning service or a generic consulting firm, so it's easy to fly under the radar. It's not like it's going to show up on your credit card bill as "Prostitute service" LOL.
Beware of Instagram scammers. Sending deposits or having you buy a gift card and then have you send a photograph of it. They do not need the pin code to drain it.
My recommendation is to amuse yourselves waisting as much of their time as possible. They will say anything in text to get you to advance money.
