If they have a lot of random characters including the actual post, then change the random characters in another post, the system will think that they are two different ads. Otherwise, the system will not let you post an identical ad or it will get flagged for repetitive posting.

That random text you see..jibberish, is generated by posting software that was designed to create postings on Craigslist.

It's basically designed for folks who want to spam the list. Craigslist has spam catchers, a few different systems, that are designed to weed out repetetive postings from the same IP number, the same email, and postings with the same text in them, among other things.

The posting software(s)..there are a few of them, create multiple ads with different jibberish in them that is designed to fool the spam nets on Craigs.

I wouldn't go so far as to say all of them should be "dangerously" avoided, but you should take the normal precautions. Some of the posters are too lazy to make new posts so they just post and re-post the same thing over and over. You can also see some of the post with random lines of text in them, as if copied from a news site or something. And yes I have contacted a couple of them and no problems were had.
