They charge the high prices for drinks, including water, to make up for not having a cover charge. Some of them also have a rule that you must buy a drink after a certain period of time. If they let guys just sit there watching the girls and not spend any money, they'd go broke.

It looked closed, was boarded up and furnature out infront as if they were eveicted.

Wow! Rumor has is that is where they are going to build a Walmart at. Skylark had been falling apart anyway and needed to be condemned. Too bad I didn't conquer enough trout out of that place.

I first went to Archibald's in the early 90's, and while it was okay, Archibald's didn't stick as a "favorite" for me. About two years ago, I figured I would stop by and and give Archibald's a try again. There are two things that stick out in my mind from that visit. First, being met at the door by some guy that informed me of their policy against cellphone use while in the bar. Understandable, but no other bar makes an issue of that. Second, and more frustrating, was the "shakedown" by the dancers after their set. Apparently, at Archibald's, patrons are expected to provide an additional tip when the dancer "works" the room after her set. If you didn't provide a tip, you could expect a small scene to be made.

That was about two years ago. Once again, since I was in the area, I figured I'd stop by and give the place another try. Met at the door again and beat over the head about the cellphone thing. And, once again, the shakedown. Disappointing.

Even though they didn't get much notice on the closing (not even a whole day) the owners should've been on top of finding a new spot a LONG time ago. Now once they move it's going to take awhile to build the clientele back up. The good thing about it is, the owners have got some ink, and they have a nudity license so as long as they're not too close to a residential area they'll be fine. They just got to move quick to find a new spot.

Do not go to sensations in Lanham! Boring, the Strippers are lazy, and you have to leave you're phone in the car because management is afraid that people will take pics of all the nothingness going on. The Strippers wait for tips to take clothes off, while the guys wait til they take something off to tip. This is the 2nd time being there in the last 4 months or so, and the same M. O. I see them going out of business soon. Even the VIP isn't really worth it (although I haven't tried the "boom boom room"). Just a lame place some places are cheap others are inexpensive. This place is the prior.

I'm hosting a few guys for a bachelor party next week and we plan on hitting a few strip clubs (if I can't find a lock door part first. July 7th). I went to Sensations yrs ago and had a great time. Based on your review I won't be swinging by there next week.

Depending on what your tastes are you might like Upscale, if you like it gritty, check out Irvings.

Just took a visit back to Dallas, and it's tough coming back to the scene here.6 for FS in the VIP! Hell, it cost more than that 10 years ago when I lived there.

And in two hours he will probably tip $5. I think if you buy at least one drink in a 30 minute period and tip at least $10 and hour you shouldn't be bothered. If you can't afford it stay out of the bars. I do agree though, that charging for water is a bit much.

It was at 1720 H Street, one block from the White House. Closed a long time ago and now there is an office building there. The owner wanted to move his location, signed a new lease and gave up his old address and business but then found out that his liquor lic. Was not grandfathered and therefore he could not brin his liquor lic with him and he could not get a new one be / cc the DC govt was not issuing anymore strip club liq lic's.

Many are quite friendly. Laid back lower end atmosphere.

I took Oldfarts advice and tried 5th and K. It was great for a mellow Thurs eve. Laid back, relaxed, nice girls (yeah, and I was careful not to mistake the girls inside with the chicks with dicks outside. That tip was also appreciated).

The girls inside also recommended Macombo and Fuego's. I appreciate the advice. A lot of beautiful women in this city. I met some girls walking back up K who were headed into some of the local nightspots. Friendly.

I dropped by Fuego last night. There were three police cars out front, a handful of latin women standing around and about 5 cars parked along the street. I was told the club had a problem with its paperwork and was temporarily closed. Too bad. I decided to go by and check out nearby Stadium. The place was hopping (on a Sunday night) $20 to park, $20 to get in. I gave it a thought and decided I'd get more bang for my buck on another night when I wasn't so tired.

I went to a biker club called "Down and Dirty" on the recommendation of stripper I know. Great spot. It's in the Forestville area off of PA avenue near Bazz and Crue (I'll repost the address later. Don't have it with me right now) They're only open on Thursday nights. 9pm. 2am. First time cover is $20. 10 for a membership card. 10 for admission. Future visits are 10 with a membership.

About 20-30 girls. 95% black. 3% mixed. 2 % white. All on par with Irvings. 6-8/10 on scale. All definitely "hittable". The rules are flexible, touch anywhere, nude dancing on your lap, nipple sucking, fingering etc. I asked one girl "Hurricane" what the rules were and she informed me that "anything is possible as long as you're discreet".

Take-out is available. I asked 3 girls. All said yes, prices ranges were acceptable. I'll be following up with couple of them this week.

Lap dances are about $5 / song some girls wanted $10. All seemed negotiable.

Chill atmosphere, big open warehouse style club with round tables and a few chairs against the wall. BYOB.

I'll definitely return when I can get out on a Thursday night.

I hadn't been back in a couple years. I went on a Thurday night a couple weeks ago and was really lame. Girls were average and lazy as hell. At one point a girl was just laying on her side watching the TV. I chaulked it up to being a Thurday and thought I would try again on a main night (Friday or Saturday). After hitting a Burlesque show at the Red Palace last night I decided I should give them a fair shake and see what was going on there on a Friday night. Was disappointed. Not much better. Wanda "Boss Lady" was constantly having to yell and discipline the girls. There where a couple girls that were more curvy, but not enough to make me stay long. Back in the day the girls were thick to death. Almost every one of them looked like they stepped out of a rap video. I also noticed the amount of dancers was less as well. About half of what I used to see back in the day. Well, I gave it a try and they get a thumbs down. I will hit the Penthouse next time for sure.

Checked out MaCambo Lounge on Georgia Ave; was there around 8pm on a Thursday. No women were dancing, but plenty were lounging around. Some guy told them to dance and eventually one got up and did so but not with enthusiasm. There's not many seats there and the place is tiny; definitely a waste of time.

Checked out Royal Palace on on Tuesday evening. Completely dead at about 8pm. Three customers. Four dancers, none very enthusiastic and pretty unattractive; two chunky asians broads, though if you are into that type (I'm not). Only upside is two for one drinks. Bought a dancer a drink (cute African American) and chatted to pass some time. Other dancer was a white trashy type. Do not recommend if you are looking for babes.

Went to Camelot on Saturday afternoon; I realize drinks are a bit more but the women are star quality. Bought a number of them them a drink (it was slow so four sat at my table) and tipped and they will hung out and were very friendly.

Is the parking lot safe? Or is the entire club safe? When you say down and dirty biker bar, is this for biker's only? Rough looking hell's angel type? I would like to go but I heard that that area is going down the drain and would like to keep my wallet and watch while someone winds and grinds me. Please let me know.

Lovejugs[/QUOTE]So, I'm new to the area. But for what it's worth, what I like about Louis' Rogue is that it easy to get to / park and very laid back. And inexpensive. I'd like to think of it more as a bar with naked women than as a serious strip club. It is an easy place to kill an hour or two just coming from work. No sell, no stress, and after a few visits its nice to have a rapport with a few of the girls. There are definitely two shifts of dancers, and some of the afternoon girls are pretty cool.
