The BF looked back because Hill was in the hallway. Now we don't why the BF came back to the room and was beating on the door. Maybe April screamed or maybe he knew that the room door opened and Hill went in. Regardless, Gillard and Hill had plans to at least rape and rob April. Gillard already raped, robbed and attempted to strangle another sex worker in Morrisville weeks earlier. Why did Gillard shot April? Because maybe he had planned to strangle her but to him it didn't matter to pull the trigger since the BF was shot several times in the hallway. Those two never knew that crappy motel had video cameras and that camera feed plus their history is going to put them away.
She may have left her phone on speaker with the line open to BF during her dates- that may be how he knew she was in trouble.
Sad affair. Glad they got those b*stards.

I feel like I'm going to need to read some court transcripts to really understand what may have happened. I saw her a few times and she was always cool yet reserved in what she would allow. One surprising thing is how much family members have been allowed to say. There's no way all those stories about her being sexually abused as a child and how much they loved each other won't bias the jury. That said, I hope people speak as well about me when I'm dead.
I will say and this is going to sound harsh but they're a perfect example of why some folks should be forced to take birth control. She was 22 and pregnant with her fourth kid and the other 3 had already been taken away.
April was found lying at the doorway inside the room she was living in. In the surveillance camera video you see Gillard exit the room, turn, raise his gun and fired twice. She was found naked, wearing socks with a bullet wound to the forehead and chest. She was trying to leave the room to check on her boyfriend when Gillard executed her before he ran. This week begins the sentencing phase after Gillard was found guilty of first degree murder.
Angel Holland, "My sister did choose bad path in her life. Was it right what she was doing? No! But did she deserve to die? No she did'nt She was lost but 3 weeks befor she got killed she was attending class's. And getting job interviews! Every one chooses there own path in life and I am pretty sure if your daughter or women or a teen you care for choose's that life style would you stop loving them? She had poeple who loved her deeply and we wanted what was best for her. She was loved and cared for deeply. Me and my sister were raised by my mom no one knows the whole story but I do I seen the pain she carried around and stuff she went thru that no teenager should experiance. When things get bad you make mistakes but she had children with him and even tho theh didn't have them they always provided what the kids needed. I lost my only sister and my heart will be forever broken".
Read the affidavit for the Fl massage sting. What a joke- 1000 hrs of surveillance, countless officers involved, picking through trash all to charge 26 guys with misdemeanors for getting HEs (not even BJs or FS- WTH?) which will end with charges dropped or minimized. After reading the affidavit, I don't see solicitation proven but I am no lawyer- I see men paying for massage, a sex act between consenting adults in a private location, and a tip for the massage- no quid pro quo proven. Embarrassment (and NFL sanctions for RK) for all that taxpayer money. Glad to know they have so little crime to worry about in those counties in Florida.
Sounds like a few may have confessed or given up information without PC and allowed the police dept to violate their rights.
I don't want to post the link to affidavits but got to them for free through GQ story link.

Med.
Reading the Florida and WRAL article is almost comical. They make up their own facts that the girls are tricked here to get a job then are told you have to work in a massage parlor AND you have to pay the Mule off his fee. Really? Let me see humm just about everybody in China has an IPhone or knows someone that has one, what goes on in America is well known with Wechat and chat room groups. Yes LE they know more about AMP reality than you do. So they are very aware exactly what and where they will be doing when they come to the USA. Say what you want to about the Chinese they may be frugal they may be mobile and live out of a suit case but they ain't stupid. And might I add they know before they come here they will make more in one month here that they will make in whatever back home. No ones getting tricked or smuggled here! And the part in the article about, as LE entered the store they found suit cases, clothes, cooking supplies. OMG these girls are being forced to live in the store and sleep on the massage tables. Psssst LE most prefer this setup, they work 12 hours a day 7 days a week by their own choice! Staying in the store is actually easy on them they don't have to travel at night exausted, they don't have to get up early to get ready for work, cook, travel to work. When they close the store they still have to clean the store, do book work, take a shower, cook food for the next day. These are hard workers again at their own choice! Much of the news machine is ignorance and a push to hype up the story for ratings. Bottom line is they are here because the men here from all walks of life want them here. And yes they can go to any City, State they choose or even return to China. The AMP is a combination of a business model and a culture that they use to survive and help one another. A similar culture exist in the Latino community as far as business and housing (many in one apartment or house etc.) Asian prostitution? Sure because there is a demand. Human trafficking? I know these people and I can tell you I'm not aware of anyone being forced to work in any store or stay in a particular area against their will. I will tell you that if you compare Asian AMP's to American pristitutes you will clearly see the difference in violence and drug use. Want to talk about crime? Dont get me started on white collar crime or Washington or the fire the Pope is trying to put out Ignorance indeed.
Does anyone have insight on the likelihood of video inside establishments and the prospects of the same technique being used in NC? Are there laws that made that easier to do in FL than NC? The tip of the iceberg comment in the news articles allude to what a large operation it is in general, but are there more shoes left to drop in a multi-state operation?

You are more likely to see a sheriff's office in NC undertake investigations like this. If you're in a jurisdiction where the sheriff is actively promoting and "anti-trafficking" agenda or has established a human trafficking unit, I'd say chances are pretty good an operation is already underway.
Human trafficking is the hot topic of the day and federal agencies and non-profit organizations are providing training, personnel and equipment that is backed by grant funding. The training being provided LE administrators, investigators and prosecutors walks then through how to build their cases in a similar manner to what is unfolding in Florida.
I read the investigator's report outlining the Florida operation. They began with external surveillance, then conducted traffic stops on patrons which resulted in confessions, and then they obtained physical evidence from the trash that came out of the business. That gave them enough probable cause to obtain a warrant for internal surveillance with the cameras. Most likely scenario. They worked in cooperation with the property management company to gain access to place the cameras. LE will not recreate the wheel when it comes to conducting these investigations. They will do exactly what has worked in the past.
And. Yes. Expect more shoes to drop. They are working to tie these cases back to Flushing, NY. Which is the reason you will see that all of these investigations are aided by Homeland Security. They are building a Federal case. The connections to multiple states are necessary to show that there is interstate commerce occurring. When Federal charges drop, it will be a case about organized crime, money laundering, and tax evasion with millions and millions of dollars in bank accounts and property targeted for seizure and forfeiture.

They'll have to come up with something different next time though. In some prior cases, they've just gotten a property manager (if it was a strip mall situation) to let them in. In other cases, the cameras weren't LE cameras at all, but cameras they found during a search and the business itself was keeping videos. Many AMPs, at a minimum, have a regular security camera system recording their lobby. Any raid on the business is going to seize whatever recordings are present. And with hard drives storing weeks, if not months, of footage, that gives lots of faces to match up with times and credit cards.

New article I came across has some interesting points that they might not be able to win a case against Kraft. He certainly can afford to fight the case and it looks like he is ramping up to do so, based of other things I have read.

"Yes, I, a 77 year old widower paid for a non-intercourse encounter, a hand massage via 2 consenting adults where both parties parted ways happily as planned. If any of these girls were being held against their will, forced to work, there was no indication of that, and if your allegations of trafficking are correct, it just proves the only issue with this and similar encounters for the hundreds of other defendants in your fine city is being caused by the continued non-legalization of consensual arrangments that are safe and legal in other countries such as Europe that do not experience any kind of "human trafficking".

The search warrants in the Florida Orchids of Asia case have been unsealed. As has been reported already, LE placed hidden cameras while using a hoax threat to gain access to the business. It turns out that there were already cameras in the business and they were also seized.
"While the women stood outside in the Orchids of Asia Day Spa parking lot, three cops discreetly hid the cameras inside the lobby and four treatment rooms so they could watch — in real time — the male clients paying for sexual favors, according to the search warrants. As they waited, two more women showed up. One of the women, Hua Zhang, told police she lived across the street and "could see what was occurring inside the spa on her cellphone," which let cops know she had her own cameras set up. Police seized the cameras and equipment when they were inside, according to records, since there would be probable cause to believe it captured evidence of a crime. ".

Damn sure I would in their position!
Of course I'm sure somewhere some Asian pimp is abusing someone but the MAJORITY of the girls are just working their normal gig. Where I think the confusion is, on the Mexican border or anywhere else you have a Mule charging people thousands of dollars packing them on a boat or in the back of a 150 degree semi trailer. And this includes men, women and children NOW THATS HUMAN TRAFFICKING! Compare that to the system or business model the Asians have set up to not bring but allow women to come here to make more in one month than they can make in 6 months at home. The women have to get all their documents themselves Visa's etc. Most always pay their own flight ticket. Once here they are picked up and taken to the store where they will work and location where they will live. They are provided work and shelter and transportation to the market for food. Of course they have to pay for rent, food and only get their cut of the price the customer pays and they earn most their pay on tips. Now this is the exact same system we use. We get paid, pay our taxes pay our bills, rent etc. The girls are free to leave and work anywhere in America just like us. So where's the human trafficking? Let's call it what it is the difference is the folks crossing the border are here to do the jobs that most Americans don't won't to do, if they did the jobs would be filled. Well if these Asian ladies are here providing sexual gratification that there is a demand for (why is that American ladies?) BINGO! BINGO! They are here fucking and sucking our husbands, sons and boyfriends they have got to be here against their will. WRONG! Like I said they are here working just like us. Some Latinos were a victim of human trafficking to get here based on what they paid or there route and there are some in either forced labor conditions or shitty conditions but they like the Asian ladies are free to move to another location or go back home which most don't want to do like going back to a shit hole. You are more likely to see people being abused by "Americans" in a religious setting, school / athletic setting, parents abusing children etc. Some of these folks trashing these Asian ladies don't realize the dude living next door watching you and your family probably has child porn on his computer. Seems anything involving pussy must be a forced thing, just not true. Why are Facts such a hard thing to accept instead of a narrow minded opinion?
