I totally agree with you. In an idealistic world if every horny male took the time to read this particular forum in this corner of the internet before trekking out to Las Vegas, this issue would be resolved. Unfortunately, there are 40 million visitors coming through Vegas every year. If say, half of them were men give or take (not including children), divide that by 12 months, that's about 1.5 million men a month that come to Vegas. Give or take here. Say half of that ventures out to strip clubs while they're here. There are never going to be 750,000 men studying these boards before hopping into a cabbie to drink and have a good time with friends at a gentlemen's club. That's the reality. What makes it even more unrealistic is that probably 30-40% of the 750,000 are foreigners.

Clip joints are one thing, but even when I travel on business (or pleasure), I'm the first to admit I don't always do extensive research to figure out which strip club I'm going to wind down at after a business meeting. I was in Dallas a few months ago, I asked the concierge at my hotel who gave me free cover coupons for a strip club down town. The club was terrific. The coupon had his name on the back, so I'm sure he got a cut. I asked a cabbie later where another good one was. This one was even better than before. Did he get a payout? Probably. If a cabbie took me to a shabby hole in the wall like CanCanRoom saying this is the best strip club in town -- clip joint alert. If it's just a regular, popular strip club, why not ask a cabbie? I don't always have the time to research every detail of simple adult entertainment, especially when going to a strip club isn't the primary reason for the trip in the first place, as with a lot of Vegas visitors. Visitors that come to Vegas for the sole purpose of pussy hunting, should DEFINITELY read these boards.

Cabbies taking visitors to legit strip clubs that give them a higher payout isn't the fault of the cabbies at all. Cabbies go where the money is -- obviously -- but who are the assholes that are paying them? Of course, clip joints are another story altogether. Cabbies that work with clip joints should burn in hell for all I care.

Compared to most other countries outside the U.S. where cabbies will blatantly drive around in circles for miles on end to screw you over right in your face pretending they don't understand you, even when NO ONE is giving them a payout, trust me, Vegas cabbies aren't all that bad.

Either is likely to be about as well informed on where to find a good time in Las Vegas, and relatively less inclined to scam you for a buck. Absolutely, positively the last person to listen to is a taxi driver in Vegas. His knowlege is zero. The likelihood of getting screwed by one of his pre-arranged scams is close to one-hundred percent. Somewhere in Las Vegas there is a relatively honest, but very lonely cabbie, who isn't playing ball with the mob by recruiting suckers for them, in between long-hauling his fares to triple the bill. I haven't met him yet. I am familiar with taxi drivers in places like Manila, and drivers in Vegas compare very unfavorably with those in the third world.

As for the utility of taxi drivers in other U.S. cities, I have little experience and therefore no opinion. Maybe they provide more useful guidance and service due to the less transient nature of the business in other places. Or not. But not in Vegas.

While I feel Sorry for those guys — and the poor suckers who get fleeced by LV cabbies — there's not much I can do about it except try with [b]Wastrel[/b] to inform other Mongers here about the Dangers of our Hobby

Tourist destinations like LV or NOLA used to be , rely on a steady stream of millions of new suckers arriving daily . That's why it's so important to do your Re·search before you visit any of these places = would you go ski·ing at Lake Tahoe or Taos with·out reading up on the place first ??

It's a most a rite of passage, I think. My first time to vegas, I did all the wrong stuff. Went to all thr wrong places and spent more $$ then I Should have. Then I found the forum. Never again. Now I go to vegas at least 2x a year. I have a great time every time.

Some folks do enjoy getting their wallet vacuumed out by one variety or another of highly skilled money extraction professionals in Vegas, and wear it as a badge of honor. If they want to consider it worth the cost to have a story to tell the guys on the block back in Poughkeepsie or wherever, so be it. I tend to forget this, but I shouldn't, since after all, the town was built on creative devices for efficiently separating wide eyed wonders from their cash, and making them like it. So long as they have a reasonable opportunity to get the information needed to make their own informed decision, if they choose.

According to the article, OG is now paying $50 (per person) to cabbies so I guess they finally gave in.

The other point of note is that hotel doormen are diverting strip club goers from the taxi line to limo drivers in exchange for half of the kickback. This pits the cabbies against the limo drivers for fares.

Because the kickbacks have gotten so high ($200 for a taxi/limo with 4 people) the greed factor prevails.

Yeah, Unlike some when I come I always plan to lose money in some shape or fashion. Even when it's on business I'm there to relax and have a vacation of sorts and whats a vaction without blowing some duckets? With that said, I want to have the most fun I can with the money I blow so I try to make it stretch. I'm lucky I don't live there. I'd have to much fun and be to broke.

This town is all about hustling. I know a doorman who made over $100k's last year and part of that six figure was the limo kickback.

If you are not hustling in this town in one way, form or fashion, you are paying too much taxes! I know bartenders that get kicks from cw's for the right to "take up" space at their bar. The cocktail waitresses get bigger boobs and put them on display, how can you not throw a lincoln?

I almost had a good scheme but I couldn't tame this wild horse. this woman I had known for a long time was down and out (couldn't get a real job) she did some under the table and "extras" to survive.

She graduated from a massage school, I went there one time and was one person away from getting her but it would not have mattered, they had curtains as dividers and any little sound would travel.

Anyway, the point of the story is she had a legitimate certificate for massaging. I was going to supply the apartment and the supply of men, yes, my dear friends at SexGuide who have gotten the hookups. But this woman was very undisciplined and there was that probability of her keeping more money than she said she got, once again this is a hustle town.

Stopped by the OG for the first time in months last night to verify the info in the article. The vibe still pails in comparison to how it used to be, but it looks like it's picking back up slowly but surely. This is great news. A lot of the familiar dancers were still there, and not a whole lot of new faces. And yes, it looks like the cabbies are getting $50 a head now according to the dancers I talked to. Hopefully it'll keep picking back up again with girls worth the visit.

When I first walked in the door the dumb b_tch behind the booth told me it was $30 cover. "Excuse me?" I've never paid $30 cover to get into a strip club in my life, let alone the OG. I gave her a look of WTF? and she asked me if I drove there on my own. "Of course I did, I'm local," I answered. She looks up at the ceiling for a minute and tells me it's $20. There was a good line of people behind me waiting to get in and I didn't want to cause a scene so I paid the $20 cover with my Nevada ID still in my pocket and went in. I find out later that locals should only be paying $10 cover. The b_tch ripped me off. I couldn't find her for the rest of the night and the manager was nowhere in sight so I just let it go. This shit is unacceptable, especially at a place like OG. CanCanRoom yes, but not the OG. It looks like they're trying to compensate for the extra cash they decided to pay out to the cabbies.

It appears they never check for the Nevada ID at the door, so just tell them you're local and you should only pay $10 to get in. If you take a cab there, JUST SAY YOU DROVE THERE ON YOUR OWN or YOU will be the one paying the kickback just to get into the fucking place. This is simply the consequece of the greed factor I suppose. Until the place starts picking up again, it's still better off going to the other mega clubs with free cover. I'll check back again in a couple of months with my fingers crossed.

The "*****" isn't working for the company, she is working for herself. Half for her, half for the company. She can't go wrong as long as she pays the company for each guy she takes, that is not stealing (from the company, that is.)

You notice they don't post the prices to "help" you out. You have to do your homework before you go into any of these joints.

I did the Greendoor thing awhile back but I called and asked what is the admission, any breaks for locals- always, always ask any business if they have a local rate, you would be surprised by how many do-but won't say.

When I got to the Greendoor, I asked the lady how much, of course, already knowing, I just wanted to see what see thought of me. She tried to play me for a sucker at $120. That almost sounded like a price to try to keep me out?

I didn't go in right away, they have tables there you can sit "and think about it". When three beautiful girls went in, I said it was time. Once again, she tried to take me but this time she lowered it to $90, why, I didn't ask.

I paid the local rate and went in, after I gave her an earful.

You have got to do your homework and this board is probably the best because you can ask everybody particular questions. I love AMPs but I wouldn't want to drive all over town (and pay that stupid mamasan fee)
when I can read from everybody what's going on out there.

My greatest mongering is free (another thread on how to do that) then low ball (catching the real pretty ones when they need money and do it at prices they don't want anyone to know) I am not into women with no teeth and dependencies. Its not the sex, its making them do things they don't do with all their clients, that's the high.

I guess the Greendoor has its moments, it didn't happen when I was there. I would have gone back again. There is another spot next to the gay club Red Rooster, they used another name and changed it back to R.R.

This was a cheaper place and I had better luck for the amount of times I went. One time they had a "hostess" and I did my deed for only $30 because I told her that was all I had and it was slow for her.

I don't have the time (or desire)to hang out at that place. I am sure there are some good times to be had. They have a local rate that is good for one month, all the in's you want. I may head that way New Years, people will be looking for some place to go.
