It seems like 2 or 3 times a week now they put articles in the paper talking about crackdowns and the like.

If you remember me warning last year when they did this, it was like 2 weeks later they set up all those stings on Chester streets and the like and now they are focusing on strip clubs.

Myrtle wants to clean all of this up, whether people like that or not, and they are starting by going after the clubs, but IMO if that fails they will crack down harder on the patrons. Not that it would get this bad, but in other communities there were church groups that started supporting the effort and they would sit outside of the parking lot writing down the license plate of all the patrons and then making that information public. Cops would hang out by clubs and pull over cars leaving and check for drinking, drugs, prostitution, etc... just out and out hassling in an attempt to get people to stop going.

Anyway, here are excerpts from todays paper, as the case was before, it's better to lay low for several months to see how this shakes out before getting busted IMO:




But today, four Dollhouse dancers and a manager face a criminal trial in Conway on charges dancers bared their breasts without an adult-business license. On Thursday, four dancers and the manager of the Pink Pony face the same charges.

The lawsuits are the opening volley in what some Horry County Council members hope will be a wider campaign to rein in the strip clubs, escort services and pornographic bookstores that thrive in the local tourism economy. The council is considering hiring a special team of police and lawyers to strictly enforce zoning laws.

"I realize money is tight ... but if you think [the problem] is out of sight, out of mind, you need to go visit these sites," Councilman Howard Barnard said to fellow council members during initial planning last week for 2006 county spending.

It is the first time in five years the county has attempted to toughen up on adult businesses. The last attempt, in 2000, failed when a federal judge rejected a county ordinance on how patrons could tip dancers.

The new press, which focuses on enforcing zoning law, began in August when law enforcement raided four clubs including the Pink Pony in Garden City Beach and Thee Dollhouse just north of Myrtle Beach.

In regards to SC Beach Bum's post, the charges against Thee Dollhouse and Pink Pony were thrown out on a technicality yesterday. Seems a written warning was never given before the arrests were made. This is good news and bad news. The bad news being, the council and county police are likely pissed at this development and no doubt will redouble their efforts.

Was down on the south end the other day and decided to take a quick detour down the side streets. Saw this hot little blonde talking to a guy on the street corner.
