The bottom line is we need to stop electing politicians and lawyers in particular. Everyone else in our society needs to be represented. Doctors, business owners, engineers and on and on and less females. They're hurting our constitution and most cannot keep their emotions out of their decisions. The politicians don't care about this country and don't have a clue on how to deal with other countries regarding trade. We've been getting so screwed for so long we all have gotten used to it, but we're still pretty much a house of cards economically, because of the deficit. Trump is trying to reverse all these trends and trade deficits with other countries. If we don't do something now about China it is predicted they will pass us by 2030. Some say 2026. They've been stealing our intellectual property for decades now and the POLITICIANS have done nothing. Our intellectual property is our crown jewel of being a super power. China has a long term plan on world dominance and they stick to it. I fear after Trump another politician will reverse the direction we're going in on preserving our number one status. If not the dollar will be replaced by a world currency. Trump knows this and is doing something about it. Now if we could kick out the liberal republicans then I'm optimistic.

I suppose we could refrain from imposing higher tariff's and continue to have other countries, especially the Chinese, steal our intellectual property and impose higher tariffs on us than we impose on them. If you are content to be taken advantage of and economically harmed, then we can maintain the unfair trade practices to our disadvantage. But, if you want freer and fairer trade, plus good paying American jobs, how do you propose we do it? Do we get down on our knees and beg the Chinese to treat us fairly and wait for them to have a change of heart?

Seems to me the sissy way will not work. Grow some balls, be a man about it and support the president. All these anti-Trumpers who call him a buffoon are ignorant and lack the testicular fortitude to do what is necessary to succeed in a tough world. The Chinese are tough. We need to be tough.

I keep seeing people mention "Intellectual Property". Isn't most IP owned by corporations? Corporations have no allegiance except to money. Ford, Apple, Chrysler, they're not American companies, they're multi-national giants. Don't fall into the trap that American ideas are being stolen. CORPORATE ideas are being stolen, so that gives you a clue who has the most to lose. Even military secrets come about from defense contractors. The US doesn't invent their weapons, they contract it out in multimillion dollar deals.

News just from today is that the EU caves in to Trump on trade and they are ready to deal. Trump threatens China with tariffs the Chinese cannot match because of the trade imbalance. They are ready to deal. NAFTA has been in the process of renegotiating for over the past year. As the PRESIDENT said, "Trade wars are easy to win if you have been taken adavantage of. " Winning!
