I wasn't there for what I hear was it's hey day, but even I can see a definite decline all around from just the past 15 or so years. We expect the dancers to come and go, but clubs have come and gone or changed hands so many times that you can't keep count any more.
In that time, I've:
* Seen fights happen in the middle of the street.
* Seen people stabbed. And not necessarily with a knife.
* Seen the aftermath of gunshots.
* Seen BPD get into fights with each other.
* Seen off-duty BPD get in fights with on-duty BPD.
* Seen security literally throw people out of places.
* etc.
For as much shit as BPD talks and as much tax payer money as they take, they stand there or sit in their cars and do absolutely nothing. That was happening long before 2015 too.
Also, the clubs themselves not only tolerate but encourage the hood element. I don't know if they're still there but you used to see Bloods openly and visibly party in two of the clubs pre-pandemic.
It's been 3 weeks or so since the last report on Baltimore strip clubs. I visit B'more several times a year (last visit was in October) and usually hang out at the block, so I like to just keep up with the goings on there and in the inner harbor area in general. Bring me up to date. Clubs closing? Midway still the Midway (some things almost never change)? Anything else going on there?
What the hell happened to the handshake? Several trips and they girls just want to lame ass chat you up, all with the same script.

Anything else going on there?[/QUOTE]I've been there multiples times in the past few months, twice since the 10 pm closing bill has been introduced last month (state wants to close the clubs at 10 pm). On weekday day / nights it's not super busy but still cute girls working the clubs. Honestly better for me personally because I enjoy spending a longer amount of time with one girl and if there's not a ton of business they tend to stick around more if that makes sense.
On the weekends it still gets busy and there's a lot happening. It's all business as usual for the back of the clubs, prices are getting crazy though.
Do keep your wits around you as there has been a ton of crime happening, in my experience there's always crime associated with the block. I saw a dude getting arrested and his car searched, eventually they came and towed the car away.
Have not been to any of the clubs since covid started, I can only imagine how it's gotten worse since 2019, the price increases and less bang for your buck. I was never there in the block's best years but I did see a decline the short window of time I did visit often starting from 2014 to 2018. It's been a really bad few years for the block and a lot of people want to end it for good.
