Got a chance to sample Philly's finest last night – this is one of my favorite cities! I made the K-ave loop several times between 7:30 & 9:30, stopping a few times between for coffee/soda.

There were a few out on my first few passes, but no real quality. I spotted a cute little spinner in a sun dress that made me loop back. Her name was Lisa and when she got close enough to speak with, she was obviously sick. You could count each of her ribs through her dress. I actually felt sorry for her, especially when she was still out waiting to be picked up hours later when I headed home. Still, so many reasons to pass on her that I moved on.

Around 9, I finally saw Stacy near the bull car dealer. She looked fantastic from the street – and not too bad up close, although older than I initially thought. She's probably mid-thirties, about 5'6”, 120#, shoulder length dark hair and a tight body. We found a nice quite spot and she gave me a great pipe cleaning for .3. She had excellent technique and took direction well. Even though it was kind of hot in the car, she kept going as long as it took without complaint. I'd definitely repeat.

Murphy's Law was in effect – the REAL cuties came out as soon as I dropped off Stacy at DD (btw, she jumped into a black car with some dude – he'd been sitting there for over an hour). I saw a young, tall, slim girl that was at least an 8 on the civilian scale strolling at the east end of K. I just can't re-load that fast anymore.

In addition to Murphy's, there were a ton of other laws being enforced. I saw several cars pulled over, but my impression was they were being hassled for traffic reasons rather than for being caught in the act. I also saw some goober that was so focused on a sw crossing a side street that he rear-ended a van. I've always worried about doing that myself.

I'd strongly suggest looking into how long you should wait before getting tested, to avoid a false negative. I think, but in no way am I an expert, that would be at least a couple of months. Or, just get checked out regularly for a year or two, which is probably the best course anyway.

I thought that myself when I saw it was for sale. Here is what would concern
me the most.

(1) Did L&I shut them down just for infractions or is the city/community
trying to use L&I to get rid of the Patio period.

Example: When Phila went to cleaning up S.Broad St. one of the early things
they did was shut down all the short time motels. They were scattered
all about the area. This also happened in Cherry Hill as well with L&I shutting
down and condemning the hotels on Rt. 73 that where known to harbour
prostitutes and the drug trade.

(2) Why are the owners wanting to sell so fast and clearly under market
value after investing in renovations and from what I read another 5k would
probably bring the Patio back up to spec.

(3) You want to try to find an attorney who could find out info from
the local community/police department if this establishment has been
considered a nuisance and if they are trying shut it down.

(4) If you do decide to purchase, please PM me.

Hope nobody thinks of me as "wordly and highly intelligent" since I
replied to your post. I'm just on a mission to bone as many women as

Found her Sunday night near where K intersects A. Tiny little thing with shoulder length light brown hair. Cute and clean looking but on the quiet side. I was out twice this week.

The first occasion found me bounding out of my car to chat with Pat, a very cute short-haired brunette newbie sitting on the steps at the Huntingdon El stop. As we were walking toward my car I spied LE turning the corner, so I told her to keep walking. I crossed the street and didn't return to the car for five minutes. Guess who pulled up as I was getting in my car.

Officer #1: "Don't go picking up any prostitutes."
Officer #2: "You're going home now, right?"
I hardly made any response and was able to drive off without showing ID, though they probably had my license number. If anyone has a better strategy in that situation, do tell us.

The second occasion, tonight at dusk, found me further north at Buckius Street. Brittney, in a new pink short skirt looked real good, hopped in, and we debated where to go. She said the Patio was still closed, so we headed to the Carlyle. That was full, so we headed for the Liberty. Guess what. It's now [b]$40[/b] for a short stay at the Liberty! Screw that. And $70 for the night. They not only require ID, as always, but wanted Brittney to write [i]her[/i] name at the top of the form. And they wouldn't let her reserve the room for all night for herself without an ID.

All these front desk rules were provided in a thick Indian accent with plenty of attitude, and the unpleasantness was compounded by the presence of addicts milling around the desk and panhandlers out front wanting money to "watch the car". I give the Liberty the lowest possible rating and wish the hell Davey would buy the Patio so life can get back to normal. Anyway, all this pretty well pissed Brittney off, but she didn't take it out on me once we reached the room.

In fact during the whole date she was more friendly than I've ever known her. She's a really nice person, has a good sense of humor, and will relate to you very well if she likes you. Please treat her well if you run into her. She's got problems, like most girls out there, but she puts on her best face and treats people respectfully and honestly.

Adding to the long saga here about her looks, I would say she is about as pretty as ever, except the boobs which are slightly saggy and the eyes, which were red from lack of sleep. She's skinnier than she wants to be, but not than I want her to be. She's pretty much all blonde now, with dark streaks. And she's no longer with Teddy.

Speaking of pimps, they say Abdul is going through rough financial times and girlfriend Angie is now out of his house and over in Jersey.

Well after reading Horny Harrys report I just have to chime in. Be extremely
careful around the el stops as they are really ramping up patrols. The
and now the the Transit Police are trying to get on the same pay scale as the
PPD they are working extra hard. Heard from a good source that starting
aug 30th the will start using the loitering law along septa routes to clean up
the areas. That will include the entire stretch of the ave and especially
the area of the el stops. Good thing you got out of the car instead of just
pulling over or we would have even had a more exciting post from you.

Notels

Patio: closed and up for sale for a rediculously low price. Somethings
up, not a good sign for us. Seems like the city is shutting down our
playgrounds.

Liberty: never liked the attitude of the front desk but rooms did have
bathroooms and was a decent deal for the old 2hours for 35. But once
they started ID'ing I was done with them.

Carlysle: used to be good as a 10 place, but now that they want 20 and
never seem to have rooms avail anymore, I just haven't been going there.
To spend 20 in the heat of the summer for a room without a.c. and just
an old shitty fan isn't worth it in my book. Also the last couple of times
I was there (back in the early spring) there have been police cars just
sitting in the lot across the street.

What does this leave us? Well the ave girls have always had a problem
with going over the bridge, even though depending where you pick up the
girl it really isn't much further. Actually from most points you can be
at either the Riviera or Hallmark in 15 minutes and for not much more
money than the dumps in philly. That and those hotels are much safer
as not having to worry about LE harrassing you and your date when
either coming or going. I believe I post my ordeal leaving the Patio
one day with Shandie. I've always been extremely cautious from that
day on there.

So if more and more mongers insist that the girls come to Jersey for the
same price, sooner or later they will give in. Now for you guys who fall
for the line "I get $100 to go to Jersey" are going to fuck it up for the
rest of us. If you want to drop a 100 on one of these girls most will
spend most of the evening with you, as long as you front them money
for meds first if you feel comfortable enough with the girl to do that.
Otherwise they are just another 60 hotel date.

Was out late Friday night after a few drinks with friends. I decided to check out the action on the "K" and see what was up. I made a turn from Aramingo into Lehigh and ran smack into a Sobriety Check. I've never seen so many cops in one place that wasn't a Duncon Donut. They funneled each side of the street into single lanes to make their checks. I was already up Lehigh and I was afraid if I backed up they would give pursuit. Like I said before, I had a few beers and if they tested me, I was going to get a DWI. After the car in front of me left, the officer pointed me where to pull up. I tried not breath so my breath won't tip me off. I pulled up, he handed me a DWI pamphlet, and asked me if I was drinking. I said no and he let me go. All the while another cop on the passenger side was looking in with a flashlight. While I was driving away I could see police vans, spot lights and tow trucks on the side streets. I took off, went south on "K" (nothing was out anyway) and went straight home. I didn't want to push my luck any further. It could've turned out a lot worse just to go out for window shopping.

What I am looking for is a place to spend the night which would be a room I could take a SW without worry from LE or from management. I hate walking SW's through a lobby but would do so it was totally cool. Also it would have to be a place that has parking. I can go up to 90. 00 a night for the right room. Also taking all of yours good advice I am not looking for rooms across the Bridge. Now with that in mind

Tks for the Recon work. Haven't rented a room in either for so long I
forgot what they were charging. Looks like a good deal is just to get
the room at the Riviera on the way to the ave and keep it for the night
if your spending an evening out on the K. Next is just not paying the
girls extra to cross the bridge. Depending where you are on the ave
the Riviera is just as far as the Patio, about 15 minutes.

I do know someone that does shorttime at the Hallmark and what he
does is take a date there and get a room, then hit the ave after dropping
her off and picking up another girl (if he can find one) and heading back
to the hotel one more time. I do know that shorttime at the Hallmark
is 4 hours, so it's not a bad deal at all.

Hate to see it happening, but LE has probably been more persistent than
they have in the longest since the original Operation Sunrise. I remember
back then when you could ride the ave and the whole length be deserted
for days unless you really just got lucky. Seems like Mayor Nutter is
really stepping up to the plate on cleaning the streets.
I sure hope we are just one day talking about how good things used to be.
With the exception of a few operations over the years Kensington has
been very active for the last 22 years that I've be going down there. Even
after all this time I still don't want to see the playground shut-down.
I think we are all (mongers and hookers) just going to have to get a bit
smarter to stay out of LE's sight.

All I can say is that it sucked. Nothing that I wanted, pickings extremely
slim, too much LE and between myself and my buddy in his car we both
bullshitted on the phone while we cruised different areas looking for
pussy and we both left empty handed. Normally one of us will at least
find something and just swap her out after the other is done. Saves a little
bit of gas and 90% of the girls are happy to get two safe dates right in a row.

About midnight last night it was really quite around Somerset and all of

Undercover cops are targeting prostitues and their customers along a portion of Kensington Avenue.

Police say the corridor, notorious for prostitution traffic, had become disturbingly busy so the vice squad set up an undercover operation in early July. Officers operate out of a portable booking station in the back of a parking lot near the Avenue.

Lieutenant Charles Green is in charge of the operation:

"Historically, it's been an area of high level, street level prostitution but recently the activity has spiked, for whatever reasons there might be," says Green. "There's been a lot problems with residents out here who have to witness this type of activity. We have business people who are in the same position."

Last month the focus was on prositututes. More than 50 were arrested.

Now, undercover cops are reeling in the customers. Ten men were arrested on Wednesday, alone. One of those arrested was a state parole board worker.

"He was in a state vehicle when he was arrested fpor patronizing a prositute," says Green.

While the focus is currently on Kensington, Green says the vice squad will soon be targeting other hot spots.

"We have a number of complaints throughout the city of street level prositution as well as indoor prositution and prositutution over the internet," Green said.[/s][/indent]

Undercover officers crack down on prostitution

The scene yesterday afternoon along Kensington Avenue was all too typical: alluring women in revealing outfits attracting male drivers who pulled over and began negotiating a price.

The conversations, however, quickly took an unexpected turn when the men learned that the "working girls" were employed by the Philadelphia Police Department.

It took less than a minute in most cases for the men to find themselves surrounded by identifiable police officers, pulled from their cars, and handcuffed.

"If they come down here and they're going to solicit these girls, then they may be approaching one of our officers," said Lt. Charles Green of the Citywide Vice Enforcement Unit.

The daytime undercover operation was conducted yesterday and Wednesday where Kensington meets Castor and Sedgley Avenues, a point notorious for prostitution and drugs. It led to 18 arrests.

Police promised to continue such operations, which included the arrests of 50 suspected prostitutes in recent weeks.

Yesterday's arrests followed a July 17 public meeting in the neighborhood at which residents complained to Commissioner Charles H. Ramsey about prostitutes plying their trade in the area.

For those who live and work in the neighborhood, Deputy Chief William Blackburn of Major Investigations said, such public prostitution lessens the quality of life.

"Some of the sexual acts are done nearby and in plain view of children," Blackburn said. "I would argue vehemently that it's not a victimless crime."

Most of the men arrested this week were from Philadelphia, driving older-model cars; one came from Newtown Square and was pulled from his BMW.

Among those arrested was a state parole officer on the job in a state vehicle. Another was a driver for a not-for-profit service that delivers meals to ailing residents confined to their homes.

"When you run these types of operations, you just never know who is going to solicit," Blackburn said.

As the arrests unfolded, motorists paused to gawk; some residents took seats on their front steps while children passed on bicycles.

Vice Sgt. Joseph Lanciano said the men seemed to notice little else besides the provocatively dressed police officers.

Nearby, often well within view of the female officers, were unmarked police sedans with uniformed officers and undercover officers wearing bright yellow vests with POLICE in large black letters across their chests.

Lanciano spotted several vehicles circling the area, and it didn't take long before the undercover officer "spotting" the female officers on the street issued an alert about the driver of a white Jeep.

If you must chance it, be safe. Remember; don't negotiate with a girl outside of the car. When possible, park and let the girl walk up to you. Tell her to get in and then drive off. Don't negotiate, make small talk for a block or until you are sure you're safe.

It’s is also good to have a prepared reason for being in the area – like, “I am on my way to my favorite Vietnamese restaurant, down the street.” This is a huge shopping area and it would help it you knew a little something about the area and it shops.

How true Cooky I for one am avoiding the Ave. For a while at least till there's an overall consensus LE has stopped setting up stings. Your right this will pass as periodically stings occur. Let's wait it out and not get caught in their net!

Something tells me Barbara wrote this story from the comfort of her office without venturing over to K to do real reporting. With very few exceptions like Avonna who occasionally used to dress up (see DukePV's Alphabetic Photo Links thread), K girls do not dress in revealing or sexy outfits or make much effort at appearing "alluring." Some are cute, attractive, or once in a great while even bordeline beautiful. But the vast majority don't flaunt themselves like you might see in the old days in AC for example. They dress down because they don't have anything better to wear or to try to stay under LE and local resident radar and heat. It's probably good to be more cautious and lay low for awhile. But I agree with Cooky, this too shall pass.

Yeah! Mike, I thought that a little weird and a died give a way. Did anyone actually see one of these girls/officers? How were they dressed? Did they blend-in?

Usually what gives them away is the activity around them and the fact that they just look to fresh, clean and drug free. Also, I have never heard of an undercover female officer who actually got into a car. If a girl will not get into the car and drive with me, I start wondering.

Thanks Mike. It was very interest and informative. In the one example shown the guy was obviously an amateur (I doubt if he was a USASG member). I could not see how the girl who was holding the car door was dress, but that didn't matter. She wasn't getting in and the guy should of said, "excuse me Miss, I wasn't stopping for you - please close my door."

The other girl (the backup, in the black dress) didn't seem to be overly dressed.

This is overtime for these people, they'd do it forever if they could, but the Managing Director and the bean counters will soon put a end to it (I hope). They made seven arrest of otherwise tax paying citizens, while murders, rapist, thieves, robbers and drug dealer run while in the same area – god help us.
