Well, probably my favorite cities for the music and the party atmosphere and the friendliness of most of the patrons in the French Quarter is of course New Orleans. Baltimore however is also one of my favorite cities because of the block. Only in Baltimore can you find a place in the 48 states like the Block. I'm absolutely sure that Baltimore has much more to offer, but when I come there I spend most of my time either in my hotel room watching football, or baseball (with a nearly good looking lady if I'm lucky) or on the Block. In the past I've usually met someone for OTC 2 or 3 or (in a really good week) 4 nights out of 7. When that happens I usually look for the entire night. I'm Caucasian and one of the (few) racist bones in my body is that I'm only attracted to Caucasian women, so I usually spend my time on only one side of the Block where there are still a few bars with Caucasian dancers. I've often been lucky at the Circus (not much of a challenge because unless you throw up at the bar you can usually find someone for an OTC experience, although they might be older, and uglier, and a harder drug use). I also like the Harem, but you have to be really careful giving your number to someone in there since the guy that watches the bar looks for that sort of thing very carefully. I've also been lucky occasionally at the Pussy Cat and the Red Room. Now that Rob has moved to Indulge, I'll have to try there on Day Shift. My home bar is of course The Midway, the only "normal" bar on the block.
For all the bars on the block, treating the bartenders with respect and tipping a dollar with each drink will make the bartender more appreciative and make him / her pay more attention when you need it (to get another drink for example). It will also make him / her give you less attention when you are more preoccupied. Do that often enough and they'll make a point to remember what you drink. As for spending on the Block, I do try to limit myself to buying a girl one drink, if I find her really attractive, and having good potential.
As for tipping, I always tip when I girl gets off the stage. I know I couldn't get up there and strip naked and dance around and since they do, I think they deserve at least $1, unless they just stand up there and don't take anything off and barely move around. Now when the come up, and talk to me and maybe make a little bit of physical contact (like rubbing my shoulders) that's more of a sales call and that doesn't really deserve a tip. If they give me a what I refer to as a "Baltimore Handshake" then I'll give them a $1 tip for the extra effort.
Finally, if anybody has any information to share about the Block, please let me know. I will be making reservations by the end of the week and don't want any surprises (like the Block being closed down). I also would like to ask if anyone else likes OTC, what do you usually have to "gift" for the entire night? You can send me a private message about that and I'll reply with my usual gift.
Theres only one bar that has really survived Covid, and that's Indulge daytime. They've been able to hang on to 50 percent of pre-Covid dancers, plus add a few new ones.

If all of the property of the Block is acquired considering all that is around that area, development will be worth 10's of millions of dollars to them.

Thinking back to about 1985, the block extended into the 300 block of Baltimore Street (Dynasty and Harem were there, I believe) and also a bit north on Gay Street. Development happened and the strip bar area compressed.
Reputable businesses won't move into that area until all the strip bars are gone. Very few customers want to walk by strippers and junkies to buy their jewelry, fashions, or talk to their financial advisors and lawyers. My guess is the block will have little change until both north and south sides can be developed at about the same time.

Night Shift reopening
Night Shift is reopening soon according to Instagram profile, while GMaps claims they are already open. They have a functional website now.

Millstream inn
SUCKS! LOL. They were the only place open before the football game so had a flatbread and a beer. Security guy sternly tells you not to touch dancers and place tips in garter as you walk in. Really sets the mood. Then they have dancers trying to twerk to country music, I just don't get it.
According to their Instagram page, they are opening September 30.
Is this club related to the old Nightshift in anyway? Same owners?, etc, or just using that name. I never got to the old night shift, wonder how that club was?

If arriving before then, I often don't even see anyone minding the door. In terms of dances, they are still offered there with various room options.

Previous owner ran the club into the ground, hopefully the new owner will return this club to it's former glory.

Maybe I just went on a lame night, what kind of room options and mileage is allowed? DM me if you want.

You may try your luck with takeout, but good luck.

Night Shift
Went to the re-opened Night Shift last night. No cover. Possibly just for the opening weekend. Pretty low key since they are getting started. Only 4-5 girls, but I only saw 3 on stage. Of the girls, a couple were black, one white, one mixed or Hispanic all attractive in my opinion. Beers were expensive, which is to be expected. Music was all are&b / hip hop, which was also expected. I doubt it will go back to the days of rock music. The manager introduced himself and thanked me for coming. Lap dances were $30. Wasn't super crowded but I never got approached by anyone but the drink server until about last call.
It wasn't bad, but I hope it gets better. The more establishments up and running, the better.

Home again, home again
To market, to market to buy a fat hog.
Home again, home again jiggety-jog.
That's what it is starting to feel like on the block, as I make my first trip in about a year. I was there last night. Went to all of the predominantly white clubs on the south side of East Baltimore street. All of those clubs had dancers and a few of the dancers were almost pretty. A few were almost thin. Most were major drug addicts. A few got totally naked. A few you could barely seen any skin. A few there wasn't much you could not see. All were hungry (for your money). Even on the south side about 2/3 were black (Not meant as a racist comment, I've just never had a sexual attraction to black women). All seemed untouchable for OTC activities. In other words, the night sucked (and not in a good way).
Still, I'm an optimist and I'll be back again tonight. If nothing else, the bartenders are getting to know what I drink. And to give me a few extra minutes if they see me talking to my "type".
Good luck to all who go there tonight. We may see each other passing in the night.
(Oh and BTW, "Home again, home again" is not meant as an insult to fat dancers. It is from a nursery rhyme, circa 1611.)
I remain just.

Until we meet again.
Leaving Baltimore today. It's been a pretty non-productive trip, social-wise. Was down on the block last night (Monday) and there was hardly anyone there, at least in the clubs I visited. The only exception was day shift at Indulge. I went there at about 6:00 and there were about 7 girls and they were all doing a good business. Nothing on night shift. I actually spent most of the night in Circus watching the football game and talking about it with the bartender (Joe?
The worst news of my trip. Midway is now closed on Monday's It seems that Walt wants an evening off and Jimmie doesn't like working night shift. So I had nowhere to hang out between visiting the clubs.
Well, back to the wonderful supply of dancers the midway has to offer. And so it goes.
Amongst all of you, I remain just.
One Man.
