I would venture that streetwalkers are more vulnerable than escorts. Most guys who spend time with Escorts are married, better off financially, and less likely to have something like HIV than their counterparts.

Also it is more likely that a SW would engage in behavior that would expose her to it. Drug Use, lack of adequate health care in general, and environmental factors all play a role.

Bottom line all around is a female is much more susceptable to being infected from a man than the other way around. This is true except in third world countries ( like memphis LOL ) where a previous infection exists and then the male is exposed more readily.

I have yet to find extensive evidence however, that SW's are spreading this like the predicted models. It just isn't happening like it is in the sub sahara regions of Africa. But there, most of the males already harbor some previous infection, making transmission a snap.

For the time being, I'll stick with Escorts. Of course I have nothing to worry about anyway - as none are within a 50 mile radius.

Oh to live in a real city.

If a sw is picked up once a year then she is tested only once a year. What about the ones that never get picked up? Are they going to their regular doctors office or to a free clinic. Some will, Some want. Not a chance I'm willing to take.

Dkuym, I've got to agree with you on this one. Other than the 50/50 comment. I suspect it's higher than that since their hygiene and other habits that add to the risks.

I know for a fact that quality escorts are on a self imposed testing schedule that is by far better than any sw's. Some of these ladies are testing as much as once a month, some 2-3 times per year.

I've read that contracting any infection is more likely if you get the free, unprotected sex from married people and singles because lots of them mistakenly believe they are cleaner than Pro's and many are afraid of being caught walking into the Health Dept. or embarrassed to go to a physician. I personally do get tested regularly by my doctor.

Nothing personal toward any provider or customer but SWs, Escorts and their customers all run risks and all should be tested regularly IMHO. If you worry then you should ask for proof of testing no matter who you're seeing. HIV transmits through bodily fluids and it doesn't matter how good your hygeine is. I'm sure that since women are more likely to bleed then they run higher risks but if you don't have a barrier then one person can get it from another, period. A woman giving bbbj can get it if they just brushed their teeth beforehand and bled from it. Blood means open wound and saliva doesn't kill all HIV. Look it up. If you don't worry then go have fun and take your chances. Just my $.02.

Just to add. My last trip to the Health Dept. After initially filling out the sheet with my name, address, etc. I was issued a number. That number became me and nobody, not even the nurses, counselors, etc. knew my name. That was a while back. I'm not sure how they do it now. I don't know if it was the best but they tried real hard to preserve my confidentiality. I go to my family doctor now. Been seeing him for over 30 years. The new HIPAA laws are very strict and any health organization can get into deep s..t if they disclose anything without the patient's permission. If you do have something any of them will have to report and you could be contacted but it will be discreet. Actually happened to a good friend of mine. Go with whatever you're most comfortable. There are no rules per-se other than those you set yourself. I can understand how abusive and immature types would make this a real pain and sometimes not worth the fun.

Oh to be good looking, younger, richer, and with the stamina of an 18 year old...

I can't imagine why people would want to give you such an extra large ration of s*hit over this, save that they have access to a computer, way too much time on their hands, and nothing better to do.

Melissa, I've never met you. Only seen some of your pics. As a long time lurker, this is my first post. I only post because I have seen and enjoyed your contributions to these forums. You show an enthusiasm displayed by few providers. It's almost infectious. One blunder should not force you to quit the forum, but I understand. That's why newbies like me lurk and don't post for fear of doing something that you'll be called out for. There are people on this board as well as others who think they are high and mighty because they have x amount of posts and that entitles them.

For all of you who have given Melissa a hard time, do yourself a favor and go back to her other posts and see the love she gives and receives from the community. One blunder should not be held against her, if it even was a blunder. While your at it, don't be too quick to jump on a simple question from a newbie either. Everybody is a newbie at one time or another. Just because you can type doesn't entitle one to be uncivil and rude. I'll go back into my hole now. Flame away if you will.
