Finally a real criminal is arrested!!
One unsolved murder solved in St Pete. 2012 meadowlark home invasion.
Thanks Po Po.
I totally agree they deserve credit for this arrest, but they still have 106 unsolved homicides since 1971. If they placed more emphasis on these types of crimes, and less on chasing the homeless and workers, they'd likely close many more.

St. Pete PoPo Vs. Pinellas County PoPo
Happened last night in unincorporated St Petersburg. It is slightly west of the typical 34th Street stroll, but I have met SW's in that area. I don't know the circumstances of the murder, but there is both drug and worker activity in that particular area. This case will probably be closed fairly soon because the sheriff places a high priority on these crimes. Unlike St Petersburg where po po follow the beat of a different drum. I'm not a big fan of the sheriff, but he / they do a much better job of handling violent crimes. They also have a very effective community policing process in that area known as Lealman.

In February of this year a co-worker sold me a scooter but allowed me to use her tag until I could afford my own. One day on the work the piece of shit broke down so after seeking advice from a security guard, I parked it in the best spot I could at the time. Of course, so SOB stole the tag. My co-worker lives in Lealman so the Pinellas County PoPo read her the riot act and vigorously investigated the crime (a felony) as soon as she reported it. She was also fined for not turning in her tag so I paid half of it.
A few months later, said scooter was stolen St. Pete. It took a detective from the guys in green to no less than 7 days to get in contact with me, and even longer to meet with me. He claimed he was working on it, yet I never got the sense that it was truly a priority. When the bastards finally found it on the roadside I was at work. I obviously couldn't get it right away so they towed it and charged me $98 to get it out of impound. Needless to say, they considered the case closed once my vehicle was recovered.
Here I go piling on St Pete!!

Is about to be closed and they have already named a person of interest / suspect. This is a sheriff's department investigation and they gave it a very high priority. The moral is: if you're going to get murdered; don't have it happen in St Petersburg. The only priorities in St Pete are the homeless, working ladies and free donuts. Big Chief Hollowbawls talks the talk, but his posse is as lame as the NY Jets.
