Buying Blockettes out for the evening --- DON'T
Don't think about it. Sure, some guys get lucky. But, on the whole, it is normally a rip off. You had a few too many and she's sitting next to you, softly kissing you, whispering into your ears with promises of spending the night with you, or making your wildest dreams come true. She suggests that for a modest bar fee, usually (in her distored eyes) of $$$-$$$$$, you can buy her out from the bar, as if the bar would have made that type of money from her. Give me a break. Once you make this payment, you violate Rule No. 1 and put yourself behind the eight ball. Suddenly, you find yourself with this woman, now in tawdry street clothes instead of the skimpy bathing suit that she was wearing in the club, and your pockets are out serious money. What do you do next? Of course, you got the answer, you pour more money into a sleazy motel. So, you're there. The Blockette who was once going to work till 2 AM suddenly finds herself so tired. Nevertheless, for a mere $$ more, she is going to take you to heaven. By now, you wasted two hours and too much money. You give into her extortionists demands because like drilling an oil well, you already have too much money sunk into the project to pull out now. Thirty minutes later, and your now her taxi cab, taking her home. Wow, she had a great time. She made commission on the buy out from the bar, plus your tips, and got home three hours early. You got f--ked, but not the way you had in mind. So, when a beautiful stranger walks up to you and grabs your trousers and promises you the moon, that's when you know, it is time to grab and hold onto your wallet.
Recent comments on the forum note that better and cheaper opportunities may be had from the Midway, if you are seeking to take a Blockette away from such hallow ground. You should look into his advice, before spending serious money, elsewhere in the clubs.
A word about the BLOCK(TM)
The last few posts about the Block(TM) motivated me to re-post some things on a topic I have posted about before. The Block in many ways does and does not operate like a brothel. Obviously, a lot of the activity that goes on is well hidden. For obvious reasons. You cannot really go to the police if you get ripped off, can you? After all, you were only promised a bottle of champagne. You certainly cannot complain that the illegal service you bargained for was not delivered. So heed my advice if you are gonna go a-blockin. Go down a few times. Meet a few people. Get to know a bartender on a first name basis. You'd be surprised that bartenders everywhere are pretty similar, even on the Block. They know that getting to know their customers lead to bigger tips. Most of the bartenders know what I drink. Sometimes it is waiting before my butt hits the stool. Get to know the girls. Buy a few drinks for ladies. If you gain their trust, even if they do not put out, or meet after hours, they may be willing to point out those of their co-workers who do. Tip them for the information. Tip them if you are successful with their advice. It may lead to more good info.
Don't believe everything you read. The Block is not an easy place to score off-premises action (even the Midway can be tough). It has taken me literally years to hone my skills, and even then luck plays a huge role. The Trashman tought me a lot as well. A good equation to remember is desperation (on their part) plus opportunity often equals a very good time. Also, the Block can be a violent place. There have been stabings and fights recently. Even the gang unit of the police department has been present because of problems. It is very important that you keep your wits about you. The Block is NOT the place to get deep into the cups. That is the time everyone in the bar from the doorman to the floorman to the bartender and girls will work overtime to strip you of every last cent of your cash. Sobriety is your best friend.
