My current "SB" is a 30 yr old very fit grad student. I have zero complaints. My long-term successes from SA over the past few years have been:

Other than that it's total YMMV. Things like your looks, age, income, your offer, creep factor, how you treat / speak to girls, all come into play. In the end, the girls decide who they want to spend their time with and the hotter they are the more you will be competing with other guys. You need to stand out from the competition. I have had a few offers from afar but they all want you to send money to finance the trip. Ask yourself are you that irresistible that she would drive hours for it when She could easily find someone close by?
