Blue Ocean
Thursday night, long day at work, decided to reward myself with a visit to one of what seems to be a growing number of AMPs in the NOVA area.
Decided I was in the mood to try a new place and chose Blue Ocean as my destination. Easy to find, right off of Rolling Road.
Rang the doorbell where I was greeted by Maya. I think Maya may also be the Mamasan as well, but I'm not certain. Maya is probably in her 40s, attractive gal. Very friendly. Apparently it was a very slow day and night -- Maya told me she had been waiting for me all day! :-)
Very nice facilities if you have not been there. TS was excellent. Maya toweled me off and escorted me to the room where I received an outstanding, medium to strong massage. The massage easily was worth the price for admission. Threw in some backwalking as well. Superb.
The finish was standard NOVA, but done extremely nicely. Completed the appointment with some final massage of the face, scalp, neck and upper back.
Would I go back? Yes.

A Grand Day Out
A friend wants to treat me to a Nova outing, mainly because he's a newbie. He's reluctant to go out by himself. The problem is, I'm not sure what kind of reaction we'd get if we both showed up at the same time. Assuming we could get past that, there's the question of what might be expected if there was only one lady working at the time, which is a situation I've run into occasionally. I'm find with sloppy seconds, but I don't know if they'd want my friend to leave right after or if he could sit in the waiting room, or what.
I could list a bunch more questions/concerns, but you get the idea. How would you handle this situation in a way that wouldn't cause anyone undue discomfort, or logistical difficulties?

Dual outing

Ok Me, and a friend did this a few weeks ago. We both walked into an amp. In Tysons. I picked a place that I visited before. He is a newbie. We just walked, rang the bell and the lady was surprised but they were not busy. We both picked a lady and went to it. I go the shower first while he did the sauna and switched. I finished before him at the end of the hour and waited by the car.
I thought it would of been weird but it was not. As for if there only one lady avail. Then we decided to just leave for another pre-picked location.
can't you just private message him, and let him know? Maybe its an honest mistake, no need to try to embarrass someone, or try to make yourself feel superior by pointing out someone else's "flaws". Why start trouble in EVERY forum you post in, seriously. I am really tired of seeing you attack other members, please stop. Be a nice Bull, not a mean one, LOL. We are all here for the same reason, not to poke jabs at each other, really. We are all adults here, or should be. Famous quote from the 90's: "can't we all just get along?"
Please quote one post where I have attacked a member?
I have pm'd this person recently trying to be polite and it did not go well, he simply repeatedly felt he needed to inslut me despite not one message from me insulting him.
Yet you decide to pass judgement on me without knowing the facts. I do not attack someone I disagree with and I do not insult them if our opinions differ. Just like anyone else who would be corrected for posting in the wrong place, he was informed, and that is all, it was not hostile or impolite.
People who can not take having their mistakes pointed out tend to get overly emotional about it, but that is their own issue to deal with.

MICKEY's no mouse
Tried a place new to CL this month, and had a great time with Mickey; One of best massages I have had, and, sinc eit was first visit, a typical pleasant NOVA conclusion. Got the impression that now that she knows me, future visits can be even more enjoyable..but even if not, the massage alone is worth the visit.

I've done this several times. Mainly in DC. I remember when I was newbie, friend took me to CPHC. Only one lady available, he went first I had to wait 45 min for another lady, then he had to wait for me. Maybe some of you remember that place had waiting area behind curtain with magazines and TV. In NoVa most places do not have waiting rooms so we have to wait in the car. Call ahead, MMS will always let you know. It would be akward if there is only one lady working that day otherwise no discomfort.

I have gone with buddies a couple times to area spas. To avoid waiting which happens usually for one of us, I call ahead and schedule an appointment with 2 girls. Try to avoid the peak times for the spas (lunch time and right after work 4-6pm). I think if try these tips you shouldn't have a problem or wait/delay.

G&g
I TOFTT the other day and tried the G&G Wellness on Tyco. The place is very clean with all new equipment and tables. Nana was my provider. It took me a while but I figured out that this was the same Nana that used to work at Papaya. She is a full-figured girl but no fat. She has a great attitude and easy to talk to. TS and massage was great. NOVA finish but with an interesting technique. PM for details.

G to G
As with a past review to G and G. It is nice place. Clean, TS with a soft foam mat. Temparate rooms. Massage was nice and unrushed. Average provider. Full figured K girl. not spinner but not fat. Not to busy here.
Great service and will go back. I have gone here before and reviewed about a month ago here. Discreet entrance and nice location. I was remembered and welcomed by the Mms and providers.

A little disappointing
Decided to go to one of my favorite NOVA spots. And unfortunately it was not the BEST. I usually have great service at this place. I was greeted by some new talent, which always gives me a little worry about quality. Late 30's, early 40's. About 5'7" 110lbs. Wearing a casual orange dress. Wouldn't tell me her name. I guess she didn't even want to make up a fake one. TS was long and decent. Massage was good, but a little redundant in certain areas. Then the turn. Got the standard NOVA finish. No roaming was allowed, not even OTC. She told me very sternly that is not her job to let me do that. I was highly disappointed considering this has never happened before at this place. Most talent usually let me act like a baby, if you know what I mean. Then when I was getting dressed she was acting way more friendly for obvious reasons. Come to find out she was drinking the night before and didn't get much sleep, which explains the crankiness. Oh, and I forgot to tell you that she got annoyed when I asked her to repeat what she was saying 3 or 4 times. Like it's my fault you don't speak English well?!?!? Gave .40 which I think was generous considering the limitations put on me. I will definitely ask for someone different next time if she greets me at the door.

Got Frumped!
After my slightly disappointing visit last Sunday at another place, I decided to make a hop, skip, and a jump and take a Holiday tonight. I arrived at 8:58pm. I remember another post(at another place) warning of going late in the evening. Of course I didn't remember this til the drive home. I have always had good service with You Me and Ruby on several occasions, so I didn't think I had a thing to worry about. As I was coming in Ruby was in her street clothes getting ready to leave. So I was hoping You Me was still there. I was waiting in the room, in walks "The Frumpster". I would guess early 40's. Dressed in a very boring, frumpy black shorts and cheap looking, unsexy top. Very plain face and hair. Looked like she awoke from a nap. TS was ok, but a little mechanical. Massage was extremely short. I would guess around 10-12 minutes. Mind you I paid for an hour. Then came the turn. I asked for a BJ. She started out ok, but then did one of the oldest tricks in the book, switched to an HJ. Was a bit boring for an old dog. As she was cleaning me up she said that she would give a better massage next time. Of course I knew it wasn't her fault, but that the Mamasan wanted to go home early. Very unprofessional in my opionion, but not surprised. Seems like finding consistent service is hard these days. Or at least to me. They figure they can find new suckers each time to put up with subpar service. And they are probably right. I for one am going to take a break from this place for a while. Maybe this is an non-verbal sign to check out some new places? Who knows. I left .40, which was frowned upon. I told her to get the other .20 from the mamasan that ripped me off. I knew my visit was short, but didn't know how until I got and my car and the clock read 9:30! Ripped my off for half my time. Those are the breaks I guess. Sometimes ya win, sometimes you get a timecutting frumpy chick.

The Proper Reply

Lovejugs
The proper reply, when a girl says "better massage next time," is to leave a lesser tip and, when she frowns at it, say to her: "Better tip next time." They will get the point.

A Little Disappointing
I believe I had the same therapist. Would not give me her name. Hard almost too hard massage. Made sure to let me know she is licensed.
Think the AMPs are being careful to have licensed therapists after the Loudoun debacles. Seems like too much YMMV at AMPs right now.
I will stay with private massage providers at this time. More limited menu but always leave satisfied since expectations are tempered.

Tina
Can confirm Tina is well worth the visit, one of the best massages I have had in awhile. Oh and that bod isn't bad either. Was cut a little short because it got a bit busy right at the end.

Massage Enjoy - McLean
I had seen this advert on CL several weeks ago and it has continued to appear regularly:
Grand Opening (Mclean/Tysons Corner/Falls Church)
Welcome to our new, clean and safe store!
We offer quality but affordable Asian & Western bodywork and massage modalities.
You will say "Money well spent! " after our service! 703-587-5008
I called them up and found out they are "Massage Enjoy", in the strip mall on Old Dominion Drive at the 6200 block. They are between the Safeway and the big drug store, catty corner from the Starbucks. As they are convenient to me, I decided to TOFTT. Plenty of parking. Acres of it.
I was met by "Wendy", a fortyish Chinese woman (from Beijing, she says), with limited English skills, about a 5 on the 10 point scale. She was cheerful and accommodating. Apparently she is the sum of the masseuse staff; she recommends calling ahead for an appointment.
Rates are 30 mins/$39; 60/$69; 90/$99. My 60 minute session lasted a good 70 minutes. They also advertise foot massages and massages for women and couples. Rooms are fairly spacious cubicles with doors, but do not go to the ceiling. No shower. Generous use of hot towels for clean-up. Face cradle, nicely padded, disposable cover.
I am guessing this place is "therapeutic", but wonder if YMMV. "Wendy" was clear. No HE was allowed, for fear of trouble with the police. That said, she allowed as how "self-service" would be tolerated. Indeed, she was happy to oblige a little light roaming.
The massage was a good relaxation massage, draped, but not intrusively so. If you want deep, Swedish, I think it would be offered. I was content with a medium massage that focused on relaxation. In addition a good massage of the major body masses, lots of time was spent on scalp, temples, chin, ears, hands, feet, neck and shoulders, the areas that set me to purring then send me off to dreamland. When the massage had concluded, she dressed me in the best Asian fashion, and offered a drink of water on exiting.
The rates are good value for money; there are signs posted that tips are appreciated. No request was made of me by Wendy and she seemed happy with the standard therapeutic massage tip that I left. I would repeat.
