Interesting; does anyone know why the charges are pandering instead of solicitation or something like that?
Which would be the harsher of the two? Fines? Jail time?
I wonder which ad.
http://www.sheriff.douglas.ga.us/news.html

Ad was run Feb 6-7th according to article.
Yeah this whole thing seems a little off. The ad copy would be interesting to read. The link to the sheriff's site seems to indicate (at least the way I read it) they were arrested upon arrival vs. After soliciting in the room.
You all have probably heard the saying, "you can beat the time but you can't beat the ride. ".
If these guys lawyer up I bet they can get this thrown out. That said for many the damage is probably already done.

Ad was run Feb 6-7th according to article.
This makes no sense, the sherriff claims that businesses were complaining about prostitutes roaming the area, so why not arrest those street walker prostitutes and their Johns. How does placing an ad to snare Johns help solve the problem, since the arrested dudes were driving from all over the metro area. IMHO girls advertising online usually go about their business quietly and discretely in a hotel room and not on the streets. This sure looks like a publicity stunt to me.
IMHO girls advertising online usually go about their business quietly and discretely in a hotel room and not on the streets. .
Yes and no.
The EROS grade $200+ gals that stay in better hotels tend to stick to themselves and not cause trouble. The definition of a victimless crime.
Some of the $40-60 gals at some of the notels that have handlers and share rooms with multiple girls? Let's face it there is nothing discreet about many of them. In fact many of them may as well be SW as indiscreet as they are.
Not defending the cops or whichever politician (any contested Spring elections over there?) pushed for the bust, simply saying it isn't one size fits all.
Which would be the harsher of the two? Fines? Jail time?
So since pandering is the statutory term in Georgia for solicitation, they are one in the same.
Unless there are aggravating circumstances, it is most likely a misdemeanor. The penalty can vary by county and judge for that county. Some judges really hate these charges.
So it can vary by judge. Generally misdemeanors in Ga. Carry a fine of up to $1000 and can carry up to one year in jail. I believe there is also a requirement for persons convicted for pandering to be published in the county legal newspaper.
Keep in mind that a vehicle could be confiscated and taken as part of the punishment under a theory that it was forfeited for being used in a crime. Similar to what happens for.
Drivers in cars with SW.
I don't think its an election year. While sheriffs are elected, I would imagine the current sheriff was in the 2014 election or would be up in 2016. There was a recent law.
Enforcement convention in Atlanta focused on sex trafficking at Mercer University. The recent convention, held at the direction of the current Ga Attorney General in Atlanta.
Focused on sex trafficking and new laws directed at this eliminating this particularly as it relates to minors.
If a minor is involved, the penalties under the Ga Code (which is also where the pandering charge is defined) increase dramatically. (The fine increases to 100,000 and the.
Imprisonment can be for up to 30 years). By law, not knowing the age of the person is not a defense, meaning, if she says she's 18, look 22 but is 17, its the kicker that puts.
The defendant into the sex trafficking statutory provision. Not a good place to be and could also result in being places on the sex offender list.
From Google maps, it appears there is a notel neat the thrift shop shown in the report. And complaints from business owners will drive this type of LE effort.
Douglas County has a reputation for being harsh in criminal enforcement so in terms of counties not the county you want to face charges in. I agree that these cats would do.
Well to lawyer up.
Which would be the harsher of the two? Fines? Jail time?
Actually, Ga revised the statute so that "pandering" is now a misdemeanor of a "high and aggravated nature" so the fine can be "up to $5000 and up to a year in jail. ".
If the party solicited was between 16 and 18, then then its a felony with a fine of at leaf $2500 up to $10,000 and at least five but no more than 20 years in jail. If under 16.
The higher penalties apply.
These revisions took effect this year.
So these cats could face up to a $5000 fine each. With an elected sheriff responding to business complaints generating a minimum of $13,000 in fines and possibly up to.
$65,000 in fines, pretty easy to see why this may be repeated.
Lawyer up.
Did anyone figure out which ad on BP the Douglas county cops were running in their sting?

Lawyer up.
Lawyer up, no doubt. Easy bust, tough conviction. Pandering can also be enticing someone into prostitution, placing an ad for a prostitute, giving a ride or getting a room for. Something to keep in mind.

This is a dead giveaway that it could be a set up by L.E. You show up with item 420 resulting in additional felony charges being added to the initial misdemeanor solicitation/pandering charge. In this case you are now in a serious world of hurt.

"420 Friendly" is code for "bring me over some good shit".

Has anyone found UTR's using OKC? I'm working a few right now but it seems like I'm in for the long game.
