It's a multi-faceted problem
First, not listing prices means there's less price competition. When everybody listed their rates, a lot of people felt they had to be equal or lower--especially if they're new.
Second, I am seeing some better-looking providers lately, and they are asking higher rates.
Third, it's how they set their prices. They ask a friend. If their friend is getting 80, they ask for 80.
Fourth, I wonder if the move from the escort sections (which no "decent" person would read) to the personals section (which "everybody" reads) didn't introduce a whole bunch of new clients who didn't do research into pricing before biting.
