I've been cruising around the usual areas at all times of the day, (except for 5th ave, as that place kinda freaks me out). And it's either that I'm missing the SWs whenever I drive by, or they just aren't there. I work in north birmingham, so I usually cruise by a lot of the areas along 78, 8th, and Finley on a regular basis. I've also been up hwy 75 on 2-3 occasions, but no luck there either.

Is everyone else experiencing the same? Or do I need to do something differently?

Pretty sure that I've been spoiled by the relatively easy mongering I'd grown accustomed to in big orange country.

* Saw a gorgeous WSW today in front of the Motel 8. Says she has a room there. No thanks.. This is probably one of the prettiest girls from the streets I have ever seen. About 5'7, 125, brunette, goes by the name of Amber. Didn't have time to do anything but ask a few questions. I have her digits for fellow senior members, just pm me. Let me know how it goes or if anyone comes across her, let me know. Would love to know more about this girl if anyone comes accross her. The surroundings just didn't feel right to me.

* April is staying at the motel next to Express Oil. Stopped me the other day and wanted to get together. I reminded her of the time about 4 years ago that she nearly broke my hand by swinging a bat at me after our encounter in her room. She said she was sorry and would make it up to me sometime.

* Say a old duo I haven't seen in a long time. Misty and her mother are currently residing on 50th st north. Told mom to send Misty out. Excited becuase Misty was pretty hot back in the day. Drove by and kept on trucking, wow, she has put on like 150 lbs or so. Mom still looks the same, but is a bit old for my taste.

* Lastly, a weird thing occured on my rounds at lunch. The black woman kept following me arround and blowing her horn whenever she got close, finally she pulled beside me at a redlight and asked what I was doing, wanting to know if i was looking. I told her no and she went on. I later saw her parked in front of a house just off 50th and stopped and asked what see meant, she said she thought i was dating. She was a big woman, almost got the sense she may be a tranny. For a time I thought she may be some kind of vigilante or something.

F&F, that might possibly have been a tranny you saw, as there used to be an overweight tranny that walked on 1st around CVS, and lived a block down from it but parked by the old barbeque place all the time. It drove a car that had a personalized licence plate that said Mrs Fat or something of that nature, that's how I could always tell it was her.

As for the SW Amber, I'll probably have to take a look around and see who that might be. Motel 8 and the surrounding area has been quite active lately, and was last night, but it's also been very active in the area with cops swarming as well. If this girl insists on going into a room, she'll probably not be seeing me though.

The mother and daughter I remember from when they stayed over by the old Conoco, which is now the A1 gas station which must have now been about 10 years or so ago or more. I see the mother walking every now and then, she's always been alone lately, and she looks the same as she always did, just a tad more run down every time. I've even got a picture of her in an arrest record she had about a year or so ago. She has a face you'd remember anyway, kind of like a run down looking mix between Penny Marshall and Barbra Streisand. The daughter, though, I don't know if I've seen her or not after that 10 year time frame. She had long blonde hair and a great body back then, and also looked like she might just have turned 18, though she may have been in her early 20's. I never saw her real close up, though. Ten years can do alot to someone especially someone who's living the type life they are, even if they haven't fully been out on the street. You mentioning they live on 50th, I wonder if her daughter is the chubby blonde girl I always see walking in that area with a heavy jacket on, her hair up in a bun type thing, always with an apprehensive look on her face when you pass by her. I never got to actually see her up close back in the day, as I tried talking to her one day and her 'mom' intercepted me as someone she thought she could date, and when I asked her about the other girl she did say she was her daughter, but back then I really didn't believe her because a mom and daughter walking as SW was just so extreme to me in my thought back then- still don't know if I do. Anyway, the mom took advantage of knowing I wanted her daughter and made it known I'd have to pay her for time with her daughter. Well I wasn't about to pay someone else just to go get someone, thinking I'd see the girl walking by herself at one point, even though back then you ALWAYS saw them together. I never did see the daughter by herself, and the mom always remembered me back then when she'd see me pass by, and I'm sure told the daughter the scheme to use if I did stop.

Tanked, there's always girls out, you just have to be patient, at least down here you do. Just enjoy the hunt and don't get discouraged. Were you saying you cruise 8th Avenue which is around Parker High and around projects, but don't cruise 5th Avenue, which is in the middle of downtown and mostly deserted because 5th freaks you out ? I'm thinking you might have the streets you're meaning mixed up a bit.

There's a poll going on on the main page about whether posting of mug shots should continue to be allowed. It's a sticky subject, because the poll has some people, myself included, mixed up as to whether they're meaning just SW or Johns, too. For one thing, I've never thought it was a good idea to post names and addresses of girls, and if I have to I'll only post a first name or nickname, but never an address. I also don't know who here would want to post pics of other Johns being arrested unless it was an extreme case like a serial killer or some guy who committed some heinous acts toward SW. I think the poll is directed to a few guys who would make weekly posts of the menu of SW or just girls who got arrested that week at the local pokey, and would post their whole name and address as well. I can't see a good reason for posting an address, because a girl might live at an address, but she very well could have family living there, too. You never want to put someone in harms way for no reason. Pics are informative and helpful, but addresses and full names are not.

I should have been more specific, Leo freaks me out over on 5th. I drove down 5th one time (before I found out it was a good place to monger), as the interstate was jammed at the junction and I was trying to get over to I-20. Leo was out on patrol and I've never been stared at so much. There were even some off duty Leos getting ready to guide a funeral procession that were giving me the eye. Maybe it was the section of 5th that I was on (bounded by Hwy 31 on the west and I-20 on the East), things might change on 5th east of I-20?

Ok, I'm beginning to think that maybe I'm not looking in the right places. I'm usually on 8th N from 78 east to downtown (legion field & the projects). Then on 5th N as described above. Running the whole length of Finley & N of Finley to Forestdale on 78.

Ok, since I'm bugging you guys for info, I'll tell you a funny story. I was out one night cruising around in Big Orange Country. When I saw a WSW, so I stopped and gave her a ride. Well, being clever (in my mind at least) I pulled in between a park semi-trailer and a building that was parallel to the street. As I pulled between them the front end of my truck dropped about 3 ft. Turns out I had driven off a loading dock. Well, of course every dog in the neighborhood starts barking, and every car alarm in the immediate area starts going off. Fortunately, I was able to gun it and drop the rear end off the dock and drive away. I took the girl where she wanted to go and let her out, I gave her. 2 for the trouble, even though we didn't have any fun (well, in the usual way).

I'm wondering if you're meaning the same area of 5th Avenue I'm thinking of. Are you referring to 5th Avenue North in the middle of downtown Birmingham ? If that's the case, 5th Avenue is tame, it's also been very dead for the last few years, with the exception of the area by the mini park across from the post office. If I had to choose between going down 5th Avenue and 8th Avenue if both were crawling with cops, I'd choose 5th Avenue hands down. 8th Avenue is an area where if a cop paid attention to someone like me being over there, they'd stop me and ask what I was doing over there. See, 5th Avenue runs through the middle of downtown Birmingham, and going down that road, I would think, wouldn't garner any stares at all. But going down 8th Avenue, which isn't a 'main' thoroughfare through the city might offer some stares especially if it's in the middle of the night when you're going through there. It's a more 'seedier' area to be going through, as opposed to 5th. But if you're going down 5th, there's really no reason to worry about going down the road in the middle of downtown. I do it all the time, at all hours, and I'm never concerned about cops seeing me passing through the main city streets. Now if you're referring to the roads that 5th Avenue become, 5th is called Graymont Avenue on the Legion Field side until you go under I-65, and when you go under the viaduct by the post office and come out from under it, it's known as Messer Airport Highway.

As for being stopped, always have a 'reason' you're where you are. Even if it's not true, always have a plausible reason as to why you're in the area where you are. The reasoning I used to use always revolved around finding or getting to a gas station. I even got away with riding past the old Chesterfield Motel on this way remote back road once, by saying I was trying to go the opposite direction on 78 back to a gas station to get gas, and turned on the first road I came to, and it was believed. I'm more often than not always around 1/4 of a tank, so it can be believed as there are some people that feel they're running empty when it passes half a tank. I have a different reason I use now, with something I can 'show and tell' as proof to what I say as to why I'm in said areas, wherever 'said' areas might be. I never just 'give' reasons as to why I'm in such and such area unless they specifically ask me, because lest we forget we ARE in a free country, and until our officials get Russian accents and start saying 'papers, please' in that same accent I still have my rights. Another thing I've learned to do is if you notice a cop following you, and your route looking for SW takes you down a side road, skip it, and continue down the main thoroughfare. They're alot less likely to stop you if they think you're just passing through. Just maintain the speed limit, and use turn signals to turn or change lanes, and come to complete stops at stop signs and stop lights, because if they ARE following you, they'll use any minor thing you do as a reason to stop you. Oh, and keep an eye on your lights on your car, and make sure they all work, because they'll also stop you if a tag light is out, your brake lights don't work or if you have your high beams on and don't cut them off if they notice them when they're coming toward you. I generally maintain a speed limit around 30 to 35 when I'm out mongering, mainly because I scan both sides of the road as I'm driving to see who might be walking down the sidewalk on either side. It's also a speed that's around the limit on most roads, and sometimes below the limit, and you can't ever be stopped for speeding if you're not. Driving like you're in a hurry in the middle of the night is a good way to be noticed and be stopped because of that speeding. All these things should be remembered if you happen to find a SW, and never make a U-turn, quick turn down the next road, or sudden stop on the main road if you see a girl worth stopping for. You always have to be alert of the surroundings, and know who and what's around before you attempt to get someone in your vehicle. Anyway, that is just the general things I do when mongering, and it makes me not worry as much as to where I am and if a cop happens to appear.

Thanks for the info Clark. I think we're on the same part of 5th ave, as I remember driving past the currently renovated McDs (which has been discussed in previous posts). I just have never been east on 5th east of I-20. In any case, I never double back on the same road (or any road within a few blocks). I usually have a reason for being out and about, I don't usually just go cruising for the sake of it. But, if the opportunity presents itself, then I'll seize it.

F&F, is this the Amber you saw the other day ? This Amber was arrested yesterday and released today for possession of substance and paraphanalia. If so, I can see why you said what you did about her, damn. I can understand the reluctance to go inside the Motel 8, I know I sure wouldn't. There's only one way in, and as hot as it's been lately there would certainly be a cop sitting somewhere outside when you drove back out. I've seen people stopped just for driving out of there, so I'll not go inside there again. I would like to run into that Amber though.

What exactly would leo stop you for anyway? They haven't witnessed anything - though they may suspect something that isn't evidence of any wrongdoing. Maybe you just drove in because you saw the soda machine and was jonesing for a Dr. Pepper?

I've learned that cops don't really have to have a reason to stop you, if they want to stop you they will make up something bogus to stop you. Someone that looks out of place in a certain area is prime reason to stop someone in their minds. Some will follow you for a while to see if you do anything like go slightly over the speed limit or not use a turn signal to change lanes or something. That's why it's always important to obey their precious traffic regulations. True I agree it's harassment to stop someone just because you're somewhere you might look out of place, but because they can and often do stop someone just for being somewhere, I prefer not to put myself in those situations where they're more likely to stop me. The soda machine is a good reason to use if you happen to be leaving from inside and they stop you, but it would be a good idea to HAVE a drink as proof you did stop for that. Cops try to confuse you with quick questions and if they find something odd in something you say they'll focus on that to try to make you fumble for an answer. I've noticed if they ask you why you're somewhere, as long as you use something as a show and tell item to prove what you say is true they tend to believe you.

Oh, and Tanked, the renovated McDonalds discussed is on 1st Avenue North, not 5th Avenue North. Maybe that's where I was confused in what you were meaning.

If the Amber that Fast & Furious is talking about is the same as the one i encountered last fall, then the girl in the mugshot is no comparison.

I encountered a girl that went by Amber at the McD's on 1st last fall (October) and she has really long hair and quite cute (and a hell of a shapely body). I did not think she was a SW at first and she would not get in the car with me. She told me she had a room across the street from McD's and would meet me there.

My LE radar went off at this point - if you've seen enough episodes of COPS then you know this is how all of the John busts start. This was in broad daylight and I waited and watched Amber go into her room. Well, I saw something a minute later that made it clear that she was not LE (an ubiquitous smokehound went into her room).

I have not seen her since last fall - not that I have been spending too much time looking. (I have only cruised a handful of times since then). Amber is absolutely gorgeous from ten or more feet away. If you get closer than that it is obvious that she is a little (very slightly) rough around the edges from using and spending time on the streets. She is a definite SW 10. She said she lives on the east side of the city and does the motel thing off and on. I would imagine that she cleans up real well - and could be quite stunning.

Ok, those that know me understand that I only post info when I get out, which is not too much. However, today was a great story that I have to share. I was in Birmingham and decided to check out the local scenery. Thanks to Mr. Kent, i knew where to start looking. I started cruising around 6 pm on some of the local streets. Got lost on 3rd and that was a scary thing. Then I pulled into a local gas station off HWY 59 right behind a marked leo. I had to take a leak something fierce, so I really didn't care. In fact, I hadn't been out too long, so I didn't have anything to worry about.

Well, as I was walking into the store, a girl pumping gas says “hey baby.” I looked around and I was the only one in sight. She was about 30 or so, driving a nice 2004ish silverado and was dressed in extremely low cut jeans a tee shirt and some sexy shoes. I just smiled and kept waking. Well, the bathroom was occupied, so I decided to investigate. I walked out to her and said, “nice truck.” Now this girl looked like a hammer. Body a 9, face looked like a 7.5 until I got closer and saw she didn't have all her bottom teeth. She asked me where I was from and I said I was just passing by. She asked me if I wanted a ride with her and I almost jumped on it, but then thought better. Thoughts of guns and me being stuck on 1st Ave and having to walk or take a cab a couple miles to get my car made me chuckle. The tables would have really been turned. Nobody looked too good to me.

So off I go and I head up to Yohiko. Now last time I was there, I had the switch pulled on me, so I was still leary. Yes, yes, yes. I've been meaning 1st Ave N the whole time. Thanks for clearing that up. I know that makes a lot more sense now. Has anybody been to the Boobie Trap lately? I drove by there at 8:00 this morning, and it seems that some people where just leaving.

I have seen lots of SW activity on 1st ave over the past couple of weeks. I've repeatedly seen one girl, WSW with long dark hair in between 50th and the post office. A year or so ago she hung out on the corner of 50th & 1st Ave and was wearing the dark blue exercise pants with a white strip. Clark, I've looked through your pics to try and ID her but can't exactly decide...she looks sort of like angel but also sort of like stephanie. Lately she's looked like the meth/crack has really worked her over.

Last week I got a long look from a highly probably WSW on the south side of the tracks over on 6th Ave South??...maybe 6th ave...sort of where that section of road goes up and joins Crestwood Blvd. The girl was waiting at a bus stop but was definitly giving me the SW look. She had sort of red hair, 30ish, not too bad...middle of the road on the SW scale.

I don't know that I actually have a pic of the sweatpants girl. I used to think there was a pic I had that resembled her, mainly because of her mouth's slight sunken in look because of her bad teeth, but after looking at her closely when I've passed by her lately, I don't believe it's her. She's not all that bad looking, it's just because she always hangs around the motels I know that's where she'd want to go to do anything, and I'm not even getting in that debate anymore with them. She does resemble Angel a little, only because of her long hair, but Angel is shorter than her, and Angel walks more reserved. If someone here has ever picked up the sweatpants girl and knows what name she goes by or even her actual first name, that would be a help in seeing if I have her pic.

Though one pic I do have is the latest pic of Ebony. We all remember Ebony, the girl with the big wig, who always wore the short shorts and would try to flag you down hard as you passed by her. Well I saw her out on Thursday by the bookstores on 1st, and then later that day I see she got arrested. Well the street has not been kind to her lately. See what a dramatic change she's made in just 2 years, wow.

Mid afternoon on Thursday I saw 2 white ladies and a black lady on first within a couple blocks of the motel. One of the white girls long brown hair and shorrrt skirt. Might have taken a second look but one of B'ham's finest was stopped talking to the other white girl. More zero tolerance I guess.

Where has happened with Angel. Have not seen her out on the street. Seems she used to live maybe on 2nd south out past Opporto.

In recent months, Angel used to walk on 1st between Oporto and I-59, but a couple of weeks ago I saw her in front of the Anchor Motel further on down the road.

I believe I saw the Amber mentioned previously earlier tonight on my rounds. I passed by the Motel 8 and saw a girl similar in size to the sweatpants girl, but with shorter hair maybe to right below her shoulders. When I got closer I saw it was a girl I haven't seen before, she reminded me somewhat of Erin from the Waltons or Dana Plato from Diff'rent Strokes, and would be about a 7 or 8 on the regular scale, but a definitely hard to find SW looker. The pic I posted the other day wasn't this girl. She's also somewhat young, another thing I like which I noticed right off. I didn't get a chance to get her, because by the time I got back around she was gone, but her being right in front of the entrance she might just have went back inside- who knows. She's friendly at least, and waved and smiled at me when I passed, unlike alot of the stick-up-their-asses that's been around lately. The problem is, if she's inside that motel, then she doesn't come out much as that's the first time I've seen her and I pass by there frequently at night. And if it happens to be the same girl that was mentioned by MD from back in October, I don't remember seeing her at all before today, which shows she stays close to her rooms wherever she is. Oh, there were also several dudes hanging around the roadway on both sides at the same time she was out there, and when she disappeared so did a few of them- another reason not to go into a room with her. Either way, I plan to investigate.

Yep, this is her. No doubt. Looked much better the day that I saw her. The day she got arrested was the day they were doing a sweep along First Ave. I swear, I saw at least 7 cars pulled over from 50th up to about 85th street. If anyone sees her around please let me know.

This isn't sweatpants girl, at least I don't think it is. This is someone else I haven't seen. Sweatpants girl is hanging around 50th and 1st at the moment. She looks good from a distance, but when you get up close, she looks like the wicked witch of the west. She is wearing Kacky(sp) pants right now. As usual, her black shadow is always with sight of her.

Well guess what, that Amber I posted wasn't the girl I saw this morning, lol, so now I've got TWO to look for. And I know what you mean about the sweatpants girl, she does look good from a distance, but that scale just drops rapidly as you approach her, lol. Over the weekend the only girls I've seen out there at that intersection is the sweatpants girl, the heavyset WSW with the blonde hair in the small pony tail, and numerous lanky looking BSW. The last several weeks there have been alot of cops out on the road, and going down 1st in the Woodlawn area sometimes looks like a parade of cops. It's all part of their Zero Tolerance. OOOooOOOooOoOoOOo scary. Oh, Amber did get released, but just because she got 'released' doesn't mean she's back out there as she could have had warrants elsewhere.

A few days ago on a drive through the 1st Ave. Cruise. She was kind enough to share a view of her much talked about chest. They were a very nice surprise! (Of course, there was a fee involved) She wanted me to go to her room, but there was too much traffic there. So I decided to cruise a little longer and stop by on my way out.

Then I talked with some older blond gal with some bad teeth. Not rotted, just very grungy. This was down by the Anchor (I believe I am right about that). She said that she had a place on the side street by the motel (67th Place? ). Her name may have been Debbie or Debra.

I asked her who else would be at this place and she started naming relatives like there was some kind of reunion going on there. Then a young, cute, brown haired girl walked up. At least she was cute until she got closer (terrible teeth) and they said that they were cousins and she was headed over to her house. Then I asked the older blond what she was going to do with all of these people when she had company over and she said that she would just kick them out!

Anyway, she was really nice but a little worn and I just wasn't in the mood to be the guest of honor at their party, so I passed.

On the way back through, I didn't see much action and just called it an early day. Maybe I can get back over there in the next few days.

You guys have so many horror stories about the SW's I'm scared to go around any of them for fear of robbery/knifing and the hassle of being pulled over and harassed lately. Dude it's 1st Avenue North. Not a damn thing is "safe" there after dark no matter how many cops are out. They would rather mess with street walkers than thugs who might be armed and shoot at them.

It's not so much the safeness of the motels I always mention, but the fact that if you go into a room you can guarantee you won't get your full money's worth. There are several things you can almost count on happening if you go into a room. First, within about 5 minutes a phone will ring, either the room phone or her cell if she has one. Secondly, someone WILL knock on the door, for whatever reason. Another thing that could happen, and has happened to others here that have reported it, is the girl, upon entering the room, has to go run an errand, upon which she doesn't return. I remember one of our members here made like a tornado in the girls room who did this to him. That's why I always go somewhere of MY choosing, even if it's to park somewhere quiet and take care of business in the car.

I have been in a room on 1st Ave N twice, both during the day, though. They both also went as planned. No interruptions. But there was once the awkward asking for $5 in the parking lot before hand to pay for the guest.

Got into town yesterday and had read a lot about time so i thought i would give it a try . Went out cruising tonight around 1st Avenue North. I was looking for the Amber that Clark Kent posted on the previous page. I've seen her out a few times in the last week or so, but was never able to get her attention so I haven't had the chance to meet her yet.

And safety on first avenue is a crap shoot. I had some guys casing my warehouse a couple of months back when I had a flatbed come in loaded with substation riser wire. If you don't know what it is it is solid copper wire (actually rod) with a insulated cover in 20 foot sections. It now costs a small fortune and I am sure they were thinking about trying to break in and make a run to the scrap yard. I saw this, went into my office and grabbed a little flyer I printed out a while back. I walked up to them and handed the driver the flyer and walked off. I think they got the message. Well if you steal from me God and I will have a really big problem because I sure as hell will kill your sorry ass." It also has a nice picture of a guy who was shot in the head with a shotgun on it also. Never had an attempt at a break in after that. Now in the past they have shot through the front door and set off the alarm, and someone took it upon themselves to get on the roof and try to get in through a vent which also set off that sensor. The cops take around 30 minutes to get there and I usually beat them there by 15 minutes. So if I do happen to catch someone in there I have at least 10 good minutes to properly dispose of a body.

I think I saw the Melissa girl last night on the very corner I spoke of, and I had started to say something in the previous post that I believe she's the one that always wears dresses, and sure enough the girl I saw haad a long dress on.
