Sky One
Decided to check this place out after driving by numerous times.
Went inside, went to the room and Mama san told me it was $80 an hour. I bitched. She told me take a 1/2 hour for 50. No go. I walked.
I don't know about others, but I am not going for the ten spot hike in rates that some of these places are trying to push. Not that I can't pay it. I just won't. I hope that others will put their foot down too.
Took a drive to my regular spot instead.

Yea
A lot of the Korean places are charging 80 an hour now. Not warranted.
I happened to notice yesterday that on the BP ad for Spa Lux they accidentally cut and pasted the Elmhurst address that belongs to Yun instead of the Dundee address where it is, and that they changed their ad to say "Grand Open (ing)" I decided to TOFTT, and fully planned to walk if I wasn't happy with the changes. The girl that answered the door was the same who disappointed me at Yedam a few weeks ago (see my report on the Waukegan / Pine board), I turned to walk but she stopped me and convinced me to go ahead with a session. The name she gave was the same as an MT who disappeared from the N suburbs at about the same time that I came on the scene a few years ago, I don't know her from Adam so I won't post it but she said it as if she were well known. Seniors can PM for details, everyone else, this is a good place to earn your wings. The girls were very attractive, and the facility is definitely one of the nicest in the N Cook / Lake area.
I stopped here the other day. Very clean place. I saw a familiar face working there. Nice table shower and very nice massage. The only thing I didn't like were the businesses on either side. One is a banquet hall that could have a lot of eyes on you if there is an event there. When I went it was closed so that was not an issue. On the other side is a restaurant with windows facing the spa. Probably not a big deal but I always look at these things. I will repeat. Seniors can PM.

Just one "Gladys Kravitz" watching out their window at a steady stream of men coming and going doesn't have to do a lot of research to put together enough info to make a complaint. Anyway, I know that's not exactly what you are concerned about, but there are a few businesses there that make me nervous. In previous iterations of that location I have called ahead and asked if I could knock on the back door if I was visiting in daylight, but I haven't tried with the new staff yet.

It's Korean. The owners probably are friends with the Mama san. They maybe even go to the same church.

Good idea, Back door.
I've had several places suggest calling when I get to the back door. Two are existing nail parlors with female clients, and the other was the old GQ. They all had neighbor problems. Gina told me once that's what got the old GQ shut down. Not a bad idea with Yedam (by the way) since its the GQ location. At Lux, new staff probably an upgrade. Might ask for a 1/2 hour since that's how long they will spend with you anyway. Just my 2 cents.

I saw way too many soccer moms and their kids at the hot dog shop. Busybody soccer moms will get a MP shutdown quick.

Spa Lux

The lady at the door looked familiar to me, but I could not place her. But, she recognized me from when I used to frequent the old Singapore Spa in AH and we spent some time comparing notes on ladies I knew from there as well as a couple of other places where she has worked. It sounds like whoever is running this place has been around and is trying to build a staff with established RAs.

Yedam / GQ
Plus the beauty shop on the other side. They are the ones who complained, I heard. Plus, in the old days the girls lived there and cooked food there. I expect the new owners know better. Based on the reviews, I think they are being extra careful. I've not been yet, so that's just heresay.

Ownership
In my other life, I'm in the finance business. It is pretty common practice for folks in the Korean community (and possibly others) to transfer ownership / sell to friends, family, in-laws, etc. And drop out of site, only to pop up again somewhere else. Or some other city. Makes it really hard to lend money (and get it back) and I expect hard for LEO as well. Sort of a big Whack-a-Mole game. For us, the only real message is to try to stay in touch with people rather than spas. Once you are trusted, they are happy to give out a phone number. They need "regulars" as much as we do.

Need advice
So I'm only able to go every 6 months or so for a visit. So it's extra disappointing if it's a shitty one. With that being said, and the fact I'm new to the suburbs, I'm asking members where would you go? I can go anywhere from Mt. Prospect to Libertyville.
Help a dude out, please!

Help
I'll let the others weigh in here. My 2 cents are these: First, do your homework. Read the last 30 days or so of the forum. Google numbers, read other sites. A place that has many reviews is probably more popular than a place with no reviews. (Not always true, but a decent guideline in a pinch). A place where guys tip 0-$20 is legit. A place where the tip is $40 is probably a HE place a place where the tip is a $100 - well. You get the idea.
Second, be a nice guy when you go. Relax, have a good time. Be friendly and respectful. Don't ask for anything illegal, of course. Take the table shower if they have one. Don't put one the towel when you get to the table. If she asks if you were there before, just say its been a while. You can mention other places that are competitors. (That's were your homework will come in handy.) If she asks how you like your massage say you like your massage to start hard and finish soft. Whenever she does something you like tell her so and thank her. Just enjoy the massage and try to connect with her.
