There was a raid on a place in Meriden, CT about a year ago, the 2041 club, I think the name was and part of the police report were quotes found from this forum. The ultimate reason for the raid and eventual closure was a sexually transmitted disease was spread by one of the dancers. But again, they did find quotes from here to confirm there was that kind of activity going on. If you look in Ct. under Meriden you will find it.

I have been a member for some time but rarely post and as I said in a Conn Forum, it is fear of getting caught, thats it.

But, that said, I also read the Police report for the 2041 club in the local paper (Meriden Record-Journal.com) The paper put the Cops report on the internet. It said in the report that the Police monitor these sites for various reasons (Murder in Boston from CL I am sure is one reason). The report said that the Police based their case on numerous issues but one was what they learned on USA Sex Guide from bloggers like us. Don't get me wrong, I love this site and it has helped my Monger hobby greatly, but just be smart what you do, what you say and where you do it. Know your surroundings and don't just run up on a SW, drive around the block once or twice and see who is watching.

The majority of people who are in this industry ( even the clients) understand the difference between grown up American Pros and human trafficking. Only shrieking martyr- hysterics do not. You could have millions of women speaking in their own defense who are Pros who will adamantly ask it to be legalized for their own protection. Wake up people-staying alive is an expensive habit and getting more so every day. Women still make less and have you heard? Starbucks is laying everyone off.

Most STDS etc... are spread by serial monogamist and vanilla people. Most Pros are very mindful re: using condoms. BTW the pros are not breaking up families. Once women own/profit from the sexual rights of our bodies-this world will be turned topsy turvy and men know it. Some women still do not. I call myself a feminist because I know all roads lead back to women. When we own our sexuality then we own everything. Imagine if we all understood our own worth and charged accordingly? Without sentiment? Because some of us can do this-so why not let us? For someone like the Dr./Bell who is very educated and super bright, multi gifted, eloquent and beautiful to "Come out" as she did is remarkable. Brave yes, but I bet she doesn't yet understand herself the implications of this action. The moral hysterics will try and drown out her "legitimacy" but she is as legit as it gets and represents many "normal" people who are forced to live in the grey area.

There is an incredible back lash of governments against sex workers. But if you poll the citizens in most of these countries, studies after study show they are either indifferent or support legalizing prostitution. With controls in place of course. I think this is because there are more women doing it and many of them are far better educated than the workers say 20 years ago. There are more activist becoming organized, many have legal council and are feminist.

So now that we have the vote, let's take care of our sisters and stop persecuting other human beings that are just trying to live. I don't know if there was a Jesus, but if there were I think he would be the first to say mind your own business and leave these people the hell alone.

If these ladies were as you mentioned and were doing it of their own free will or because maybe they enjoyed the sex or the companionship without the strings then i wouldn't have a problem. and don't tell me that it doesn't happen. I was friends with someone who used escorting as a way to have casual relationships without having the emotional strings. She ENJOYED it. One of the MP workers who actually testified told us that she was financing her daughters education at Brown University by working in the spas. she was a homeowner and taxpayer who was doing it as a means to an end. Don't think there are many more like this out there. There are! And if you didn't know it those 'strippers' that you mention will sometimes come home with a thousand dollars or more for a nights work. And they don't all do other things.
If they were being forced into it then shame on us for not speaking up and doing something about it. I think if you actually read the forum (other than the last month since you joined) you will find that most of us have that same attitude.

We gave BILLIONS to banks and others to bail them out. What happens..they still won't lend to those who need it and give themselves millions in bonus money. Think about it..we could have given each of these workers you mentioned a million dollars to help them out and still had money leftover. And BTW let's not get into all those tens of thousands of women that get themselves pregnant over and over again just to keep the benefits going. Happens everywhere hun!

Haven't been in a while, so I stopped in today. Ran into a fellow monger on his way out as I was on my way in. That's first as I just walked in the door and wasn't buzzed in. While I did find your post relevent, and somewhat accurate, I would have taken it more seriously had you expounded more on your personal experience in the biz , and if you had seperated your thoughts from your hero's, Dr. Bell ( not really sure if you are quoting or they are your interpretations)

Also, if you RTFF, you will find the majority of the posts to be respectful and less than primitive.( Yes some posters are less than gentlemen, but they end up getting weeded out)

JMHO, but a little more discretion is in order even if what you say is true. I would also not carry on as usual until at least after January - when the first report is due on the hill. If there are no "results" to report the media is going to have a field day and LE WILL be embarrassed so I think they have to post some "results" before then. Well. I did expound on my own experience somewhere in that novella. I am not quoting Belle herself, but another post in a different forum. I thought I had made that clear. I quoted it because it already reflects my own experiences and attitude re: the industry-as well as some of my contemporaries. No need to reinvent the wheel. I don't need for you to take me seriously as I am not running for a political position or writing my dissertation.

These boards are a double edged sword and as a woman in the bizz I rather resent them. Reviews help of course but they also hinder. By the very nature of them you are disrespecting women by objectifying them-putting them on a numbered scale and discussing intimate things like how "tight" she is-or is not. Or going into detail how you (meaning you in the universal sense)video taped someone without their knowledge and then discussing these tactics with others on the board. Or how about describing the escort's protocol right down to describing where we live? Or if the place smelled like lunch cooking. We do have to eat. Thank- you guys.
