Elite
Wow, what timely reporting. A little "research" came up with the Fed press release, which was issued back on May 17, 2011! Elite is no big loss IMHO. Just a little worried if this has any ripple effect. The Sun article kinda reads that everyone knows about all the other AMPs, and it's difficult to shut them down if they don't have any sort of zoning issues.

York road
The York Road corridor is really brutal for some reason. Lived in area for 30 years and starting with the Japanese Spa in timonium over 25 years ago (a first class place) to the most recent Moon Therapy closing. Other parts of town seem to have longevity like hypnotic therapy, TBC, joppa road is a hopping. Everybody is talking about vic's on york road in fact I am happy to report that I was there first costumer, but frankly I would be afraid to visit. Because there time is running out to. History has proven this. I don't get it does area business complain more in this area. Can any shed light on this. Are we to blame

Elite Article
The main door of the former Elite Spa is on the side of the house, facing where a man named Matt resides. From his vantage point, he could see customers and watched what he said was a constant rotation of about 20 women over two years.

He had been asked to do odd jobs and had become acquainted with several of the women, including one with whom he conversed often.
I am sure "Matt" never partook of the goods. He did buy cigarettes for them though. Nice guy.
Elite sucked anyway so I'm not upset about it getting closed.
You should be.
Any closings / busts hurt the hobby as a whole and have an effect on the spas in the immediate area.
Whether it was your favorite spa or one you didn't care for, it does not matter if you are enjoying this hobby, you should be bothered.
By any closings.

Silver Lining
Any closings / busts hurt the hobby as a whole and have an effect on the spas in the immediate area.
Whether it was your favorite spa or one you didn't care for, it does not matter if you are enjoying this hobby, you should be bothered.
Brahmabull has a valid point. And I don't want to diminish his opinion in any way (especially because I pretty much agree with him) , but there is a little silver lining in this closing. And it is this.
The investigation and eventual charges that brought down Elite originated from the USA Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, with help from ICE and Homeland Security out of Philadelphia (I. E, the Feds). The investigation was limited to only five or six people and the six or seven spas that they operated. Most of those happen to be in Pennsylvania. One just happened to be Elite in Maryland.
So this one closing was the result of a narrow investigation of a limited number of people and not a wide ranging attack on AMPs as a whole. And most of it originated out of state (and hopefully will stay there too). Local authorities helped, but their assistance was limited to this one place.
We have a pretty good thing going here. That doesn't mean that it couldn't change overnight. Just look at DC over the last few years. Look at Montgomery County. I never mongered there, so I don't know if it's always been dry, but it pretty much is now.
And I don't know what's up with York Road. It's like whack-a-mole. As soon as either the po-po or some county licensing agency whacks one, another pops up down the street.
But I too have to admit, if one had to go, I'm not too sorry that it was Elite.

York road
Living in this area (york road) my thinking now is that community and business association up and down york road are complaining to LE. Plus this is a really HIGH rent district. Mp in this area should just forget about signs. I'ts not like we drive up and down the road like we are looking for a mcdonalds, we do our research first. Think about harford road the have alluded LE for years. No sign, one girl, one custumer I feel comfortable
How old is she. I might be heading that way from philly soon and wanted to check out the massage parlors down there. I have been to the block once for a few hours and thats all I have experienced of Baltimore.
I wouldn't bother. After reading the OP, I decided to left my boycott on AMPs. I went there today. Never again. Not sure what her name was, but she was probably 50-60 years old. I asked the prices and left. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Spa
Has anyone tried the spa on the corner of LR Blvd & Joppa Road in the little shopping strip next to Hooters?

Memories on York Road.
Was Japanese Spa on the second floor of a strip mall at York & Tim road? That was my first ever visit to a massage parlor, what great memories!
Remember the Russian Spa across the street from Regina Pools. There was also a Russian Spa (Tea Room?) above Angels Grotto in Towson. While we're at it the bordello above Vally Gun Shop, and the one above the old Tuxedo Shop near Towson State.
Be safe.

The cops were all over him questioning him, his wife found out where he was and what they did and everything. F'd up his life.
