Well it seems like they are mainly busting FS establishments and not the he only places. Also I am confused by Camel's report. You said you went this weekend but AC was busted Friday or earlier last week. Does that mean LE setting up shop there or what? I would appreciate any clarification.

In the raid on UH, I the OCR report didn't indicate that any men were busted aside from one who was arrested on suspicion of pimping and pandering.

As far as being in a house of ill repute, Section 315 of the California Penal code states: "Every person who keeps a house of ill-fame in this state,
resorted to for the purposes of prostitution or lewdness, or who
willfully resides in such house, is guilty of a misdemeanor.."

I suppose depending upon how loosely this law is interpreted, one could argue that being present in a house of ill repute [even before it's been proven as such] some how equals residing, if even for an exceedingly short period. I'm probably off the mark here, but I've heard the 'present in a house of ill-fame' charge thrown around before. Anaheim might have its own local ordinance, but I haven't found one.

I guess it was just odd to hear that a customer was arrested. In almost every story we read about, most customers are questioned and then released. Only time I've ever heard of a customer getting arrested is when the authorities set up shop for the day and bring in decoy providers. In this instance, it's obvious why a guy would be arrested.

This what happens when you have more than one mp in the same location. They accuse each other of poaching and then start going outside to meet the customers and then become too visible. New customers walking around a looking a little clueless are fair game. The neighbors complain and there is a bust. I wouldn't be surprised if a competitor didn't drop a dime on them either. Police know of tons of places the could bust, but often don't act until they receive a complaint.

And although I have seen reports on TV that mention sites like USASG, I have never heard of it being the reason for a bust as often as they mention the newspaper or Craigslist. Too sketchy to rely on a bragging monger when there are so many targets that are advertising their business...

I'll believe the human trafficking argument when they finally convict someone of it. And when that conviction occurs, it will be in all the papers. Just an excuse for fed money. It is a simple choice of risk/reward.

The job security for any special branch (vice, etc) of LE lies in the busts that they make. No busts, no need for the department expenditures. So they convince themselves that the girls are held hostage to work at these places. In my view I think this is a rare exception.
