For all you forum lurkers (like me until recently), I thought you might benefit from my experience a while back. Sorry for the long post, but this is the kind of detail I wished I had six months ago. I am an avid massage receiver and have been for years. I have enjoyed massages at many upscale resorts, fitness clubs, local salon/spas, Massage Envy, etc. Recently, the "Oriental Foot Massage" storefronts have been popping up, and curiosity finally got the best of me and I tried a couple of them. There is one I particularly like, and it offered services that were new to me. For starters, stopping to have a 30-minute "feet only" massage is strange, but then there was this thing called a "body shampoo with sauna" hmmm. I had heard of a table shower and assumed this was new marketing spin. These are not your typical AMP because they don't have that viB. They look like a (relatively) upscale spa.

Let me back up a little. I have never cared for the whole AMP vibe: tiny entry area with second security door, tiny service window, bad curtains and/or dark tinting, too much neon, buzzer Uggh. I'll pass. However, I was still curious. I really wanted to KNOW for SURE what went on behind the second door.

So, after having several one hour body massages (towel optional) from one new foot massage purveyor, I felt I had to try the body shampoo on a day that I was not particularly clean for a massage. Fascinating process. I had already had several mildly "suggestive" massages, but nothing inappropriate and no significant genital contact. Same for the body shampoo – very professional (if that's the right word), but also pretty erotic. It's nice to have a woman take her time and clean all the right places in a way very different from your daily shower. I liked it. Very refreshing and relaxing. But these new places seemed to have a clear line between massage and "rub and tug". Most frustrating thing is that the girls are always changing! Oh how I wished I would have read your report before giving St. Jame a try. I got Pink. Very similar experience. They had apparently had a slow day so she bugged the piss out of me for paying more. i hear it so often, that we need to "keep our prices down" so that the providers won't inflate them. in theory, this makes sense. But I think there are so many people outside of hobbyists that go to these places, even if its once a year, that they are willing to drop 200-300 at gold and not think twice. And that demand is what Gold is aiming for. Also the outoftowners/business travelers/ tourists, or horny drunkards on weekends. Hence the cabs you often see out there. I think theoretically this angle makes sense, but some forget that we are not the entire demand, even perhaps a fraction of it. its over played a bit on here and some people could save their breath in bringing it up all the time. or is it just a nicer way of saying, "you spent too damn much"?

Agreed. There are people on here like that too. I paid $250 at the Aromatherapy place last week (which reminds me I still have to write a report), and really don't give a fuck what somebody on here thinks I should be doing in the way of keeping prices down. And I plan on spending $250+ again this weekend. Even economically speaking, there isn't a compelling case being made here for price control. Take Nite, for example. I think he racks up some of the most worthless, shitiest AMP experiences of anyone here; and I'm glad he reports them to us...But while he's not spending $300 at one establishment, he certainly is spreading $300 around in a pretty short period of time without any pleasurable benefit.

lol. I knew you'd get defensive and in the process completely disregard the math. My point wasn't terribly complicated. It's very simple: If you add up the amount of money you've reported to have spent on bad experiences, it comes out to the same as (or more than) someone would spend in the same period of time on a sure thing at an AMP of known quality. So chasing the cheapest option isn't the most economically feasible thing to do as some people here imply. And I would never go to Wal-Mart to purchase a new TV...
