Massage Parlor Reports

I did not see the first listing post so forgive me if this is a duplicate.

I tried my first AMP in DC recently. I went to jasmine and could not seal the deal. Here's what happened. Went to the back door and knocked on the door. No answer to I rang the bell. After what seemed like a minute or two MMS let me in a brought me to an attractive "therapist" who led me to a therapy room and shut the door. I loosened my shirt, took off my shoes, undid my belt and was met by another attractive "therapist". She informed me that we needed to switch rooms, grabbed my shoes and led me down the hall 4 doors. I thought it was odd that I was placed in the original room as it appeared to be a changing room (bras and women's cloths hanging on the wall). Once in the second room the therapist asked me if this was my first time there and I acknowledged it was. It was quiet for a minute and the she told me it was.6 for a one hour massage with a $ tip. After reading the posts I figured that a massage with HR would be a tip of.4, not 1.0. I also learned from previous posts that one should not bring more that they intend to spend so I only brought 1.3 (is that not enough? ). I asked if I could get a simple massage for a tip of.4 and the answer was returned. No, $. I explained that I only brought a.7 tip and she explained the accepted credit cards. I am definitely not using a credit card in this situation so I buttoned and tucked my shirt, tightened my belt and explained it was not going to work out. I was expecting a change in her demeanor but she was only to eager to let me be on my way.

Can somebody give me some advice on communicating / negotiating with these people and / or bring me back to reality on AMP rates.

Tried Jenna at Green Therapy the other day. She's tall, very thin, no boobs. Started off with a nice TS, but everything else was just average/standard. PM if you want details.

[u].4 is the standard HR tip[/u] (but not all places are geared to that service).
[u]$ is the standard "all-inclusive" tip[/u].[/INDENT]
Depending on the time you went, how busy they were, whether you were a new versus a repeat customer, etc., can all affect how they handle you (no pun intended). It sounds like they may have been busy, given that it took them a while to answer the door. And, the fact that they new you were a newbie probably did not set them at ease. They probably figured that it was best to just quote you the all-inclusive price. Since they're spending an hour with you anyway, $ is better than.4, especially if they're busy and anticipate more customers. Otherwise, a "[i]what you want[/i]" question will open the negotiations.

You arrived prepared (i.e., with only what you wanted to spend), which was good. However, you likely arrived at a busy time, when they knoew they could make the higher amounts for the same hour's time.

Went to Star early today. Looking for old friends, Bibi, Susi, or Coco, but, alas, gone, vacation and ??. Ajima sent me Angie. Taller than most, but pleasant and natural (B's). I went to the formerly super-ish place near Krispy Kreme. Nana of 14K/Gold fame was there (not Nana from Green). I like Nana, she's extremely accomodating. One disappointment was that she said "everybody is charging .8 for an hour now" although that hasn't been my experience recently. I don't monger that often so I don't know if her claim was true. She said she'd take the .6 for the half hour but give me a little more time. She did indeed. The experience was very enjoyable. PM for details.

No offense to Nana, but, everybody is NOT charging .8/hr now. That seems to be what the girls are being told at this particular establishment however. Some there have even been charged .7 for the half and .9 for the whole.

The only places that charge .8/hr in DC (or tried at first) were the place in Adams Morgan, the place that's staffed by much older ladies, and a place that is named after a flower.

If the places offer a better quality experience and consistently provide a full, unrushed hour, more power to them...but, in my experience at the place you're talking about (as well as the places mentioned above), it left a lot to be desired...and the tip (upfront) was much higher as well.

Bottom line...I really don't think Nana was trying to mislead you, but, it's simply not the case. It doesn't seem to make economic sense to set higher fees in the midst of a recession...but, what do I know?
