If the DC police were to turn back the clock 40 years and roust such joints, you can be sure DC's elected officials would get an earful about it from the DC residents who go there. In contrast, when they decide to shut down AMPs, they likely hear Nothing from their constituents. The opinions of non-resident mongers don't count for much, in DC or any other jurisdiction.
This is called "diversity," JJ. Or, as someone I know once said, it's "Perversity through Diversity."
I suspect the reason the city allows a fudge-packing plant next door to the K-girl studio is (a) because the city receives TAX revenues from the liquor they sell at the ballroom and (b) the city politicos get a fair amount of support from the packers who dance and prance there.
I miss the simpler times
I'm really missing some good old staples.Sun and CPHC. The former is boarded up (last time I was by) and the latter is some type of. Well. Looks like a hippie type church. Ma if the walls could talk! Green isn't open for really any time and BOOM, here we are again with black Wednesday.
I've been gone traveling for work, but hopefully when things heat up outside, things will heat up inside.
I did hear a funny the other day. Well I smiled.
A white dude walks up and puts it in and a black dude puts it in and walks up.
Ok, I'll keep my day job.

1333
Is anyone surprised they got closed?
Very conspicuous entrace. Right next to some Children's Welfare-type building. Hardly a good location for such a place. It was bound to attract attention and it did.
Most of the shutdowns I can remember in my 11 years in this game have involved area-wide shutdowns (like Monty Co.) or shutdowns of places that were just too obvious.

Green
So is Green closed again? The article that was posted refered to a raid on Green in 2008. I was hoping to go there soon.

Midnight in May
On the notion that older, less attractive, or less popular providers often give superior service, I decided to visit one of the local AMPs to test that theory. Upon arriving (about midnight), I told mamasan that I wanted to see this one particular lady, so she obliged and sent the gal in. Lo! And behold, this gal turns out to be someone who remembered me from a few years ago, who I hadn't seen since. Things were looking up, especially after she reminded me about a couple things (and even asked if I brought "a machine, " I. E. Vibe).
Well, we went to the TS, which was a marvelously soapy affair, and then we returned to the room for an hour's worth of conversation and other diversions. Since it was late and had been a busy day for her, I began by giving her a massage, for which she was very grateful (especially after I deployed the "machine" during DATY). I can say this: Whether or not the less attractive gals give better service, they sure come like their more popular counterparts. You know you're doing something right when the girl grips your head with her thighs and your hair with her hands.
After this, of course, she tells me to lay down. The rest (including any tension I might have had) was history. And, once again, the time went a bit beyond the hour "limit" with no consequences. Total expenditure: $.6. Would I repeat with her? Sure, especially since I know she'll likely be more available at busy times when one of you mongers tells the mamasan you'd Rather have a different gal.
Details: 5'-5", 120#, 34B, long straight hair, shaved

F: 6.5
B: 8
A: 8.5

Seniors, and trusted Regular members with a good posting history, will get first consideration. Since I know that some of you have turned this gal away, you'll get second consideration. Finally, those who've established themselves as plain ol' peckerheads must queue up at the end of the line.

Maybe I'm the eternal optimist, but, if there's one thing about our hobby and the AMP scene in particular -- it is very resilient.
Even though DC has been beaten to a pulp for the last several years, the AMPs have survived in one form or another. All we have to do is to help them play it cool.
Be safe -- Max

M. St./Star/LEO
Around 5:30 PM today (Sat.) there were about 5 police cars -- NO lights flashing -- idling in front of Camelot and the general Jasmine/M. Street/Star Spa area. I spotted a female officer in attendance as well.
Anyone have any idea what happened? And where?
I was a bit spooked so I went elsewhere.
I usually hit Star and Camelot the same time on Saturdays and I realized that almost every Saturday that I could recall, there had been one or more police cars just parked in that area -- not the whole evening -- just making themselves obvious around the dinner-time hour.
As I'm sure some of D.C.'s finest enjoy the show at Camelot, and as Camelot is super-close to the location of Star/M. Street/Jasmine spas, I'm pretty sure those blue-boys know what's what.
That said, why the LE presence on Saturdays -- this Saturday in particular?
I've been inside Star during those same hours and have NEVER heard any commotion outside -- in fact, I walked out very happy from Star recently and practically tripped into a police officer. I kept my cool and he didn't blink at me.
So I don't think they're there to shakedown spa patrons per se.
Just very curious as to what's going on in that area every Saturday afternoon.

Vip
I went to VIP this weekend. It's a bit different from my last review of the establishment.

Why Not Ask Them?
A while back when I was going in to one of our favorite places I saw several LEO cars sitting nearby and several of DC Finest hanging aorund the area.
So I asked one of them what was going on and he told me it was just an exercise (practice) situation that nothing was really going on. I asked for more details and he told me they were simulating an incident in the building across the street from our favorite place in the area.
LEO doesn't want to cause undue alarm so usually when they can they will answer such questions.
Do not be afraid to talk to them if you want to know something! If they want to speak to you they will not be shy about it and neither should we.

Star Report
I am no longer in the DC area - I'm in an area with a pathetic AMP scene. 40-50 year old K girls only offering up HJ's darn near DC prices so I'm saving some money now. =) I found myself in the District this past weekend and took the opportunity to check out the scene again. Its been awhile but I did a bit or research first. Ended up at Star with CoCo. The experience was to be expected. Very typical of what is to be had in DC. If I was closer - I would revisit. Standard rates. Shower, rub and service to be had. I wasn't a fan of the "acting" but it's part of the show I guess. Not a spinner but close. Enhanced top and eager to put on a good performance. Full hour - not rushed. In fact - I'm usually the one doing the rushing to get out.
Just a bit of information as well. I investigated Orange, Jasmine and Green. All open for business in addition to Star. In fact - I think I witnessed a "shift" change at Green. I watched a couple K girls exit green with an escort and a few moments later - a couple more walked in with the same escort.
Have fun!
